Hi Sajha folks, I was given a manuscript of a novel that my friend wrote. It is in Nepali and it's about 80 pages long. It's a whole handwritten copy by her - one of two copies that exist. (There is not photocopier because she lives in a mountain village in Myagdi district.) My Nepali is not so good that I can translate it well. I have been trying but it is hard for me. But I though maybe some people on Sajha would find it interesting to read, and can help me translate it piece by piece. When it's completed, then I want to publish it - at first I will publish it online and maybe later as a book, if it's good. I will submit it to publishers in Kathmandu. Here is the first page. (Maybe later I will type in Devanagari but for now only English letters). Please forgive if I have mistakes in the Nepali spelling. I cannot read all of her handwriting. Anu, Nangi-2, Myagdi, Dhaulagiri Upanyas banauna ta khoje tara lekhaha prakuya milna sakeko chaina. Tyasaile kahaasamma saphala hun sakchu yo ta ma bhanna sakdina yo euta kahaali laagdi jindagiko serophero matrai. Sage yo upanyaas timro hatma choddai chu je garnu parcha. If anyone likes this idea I will post more each day. -Sage
