If your PPwassent to DC by you and it has not been delivered yet. you can call usps to returnit. Once it is delivered you can not do that. before delivery it is still your property. If this is the case callUSPS immidaitely and ask then to return the post. They may ask charge for it.

Thank you for your reply. USPS tracking shows it was delivered to the embassy on March 16th.Do any of you guys know a better method to contact the embassy other than phone and email? because these two methods are not all effective.

Hey Rea, Do not worry about not having your original passport. I think I-797A notice of action and your current driving license should be more than enough to issue you a new driving license. I had similar situation and the lady at the DMV office denied to renew my license when I show her original I-797A and a copy of my passport and visa page citing USCIS has not updated the system for my change of status. Later, I request her to allow me to talk to her supervisor . I talked to the supervisor then she replied " If USCIS has updated your current status, we have no problem issuing new license by looking at old one". I am waiting my new driving license in my mail box. Btw I am in Texas. In worst case, USCIS may not have updated your change of status on DMV office. Better call the DMV Head office (For Texas it is DMV headquarter in Austin) to verify if USCIS has updated everything into the system. Good Luck.
