US citizen, moving back to Nepal at least for a few yrs to help out in a family situation. Want to sell the house in the US - I have some equity in the house which I want to use to help family, contribute in buying a small property in Nepal, if possible etc etc. I may or may not decide to come back to the US so I don't want the hassle of renting it out. What is the easiest legal way to move the home equity $$ to Nepal? NRN card allows NRN dollar account in Nepal. Any other options? NRN citizenship nimayabali may take some time even though they have said it will be done within a month. Pay $500 now, get NRN card and open NRN bank account in Nepal seems to be one option, and then wait for the citizenship matter to finalize. Are there any other options? When you are a student, you think of having a Green Card, and once you have your Green Card, you think of how 5 years will be gone by to become US Citizen, and when you become US citizen, then you think of doing something stupid like this person who started this thread.
