D.C. 20536 Dear Secretary Mullin, Thank you for your excellent work at the Department implementing President Trump's policies to restore border security and ensure that our immigration system puts America first. I write regarding how the Supreme Court's decision in Mullin v. Doe provides another opportunity for the Department to continue its work enforcing the immigration laws for the benefit of the American people. In that ruling, the Court reversed the lower-court orders that had paused the terminations of Temporary Protected Status designations for Haiti and Syria. With those injunctions lifted, the Department now has clear authority to proceed with the terminations and deportations previously announced for Haitian and Syrian nationals. These designations covered a substantial population— roughly 350,000 Haitian nationals and several thousand Syrian nationals—whose TPS-based protection from removal and work authorization will end once the terminations take effect. I therefore encourage the Department to act promptly to finalize these terminations so that the deportation process may begin and proceed in an orderly and timely manner. I also encourage the Department to continue to make the voluntary-departure process clear and accessible to former TPS-holders who now have no other lawful basis to remain in our country. The CBP Home mobile application allows individuals to report their departure and offers travel assistance, a financial stipend, and facilitates removal without the need for arrest and detention. Clear public communication will help ensure that individuals can comply with the law in an orderly fashion before enforcement measures become necessary. Thank you for attention to this matter.
