He reminded them of who his father had been. Mahesh had learn’t the importance of education from his father. Mahesh’s father Govinda, worked as a cook for the Rana’s. Govinda had explained to Mahesh that the Rana’s did not give a damn about most Nepalese. But, when even an ordinary Nepali came to the Rana palace, who had an education, the Rana’s talked with these ones like they were human beings and not just animals. In this way, Govinda had taught his son, Mahesh, the importance of education. But despite wanting to give his son an education, unfortunately, Mahesh, due to unfortunate circumstances, had not gotten the opportunity to go to school himself. Thus, the best he could do was run a chiya-pasal in Boudhha. But he had made damned sure that his children would not suffer from the same fate as he did. That is why he had toiled in the chiya-pasal for so many years.   And once he made sure that his children were safe and sound and were living healthy and happy lives in Kathmandu, Mahesh had gone back to his village. He wanted to ensure that every child born in his village would have the same opportunity without leaving the village that Mahesh’s children had gotten only when they came to Kathmandu.
