It's not a question about saving money. Using calling cards is a hassle. You go through all the prompts and shits just to get disconnected many times. Direct calls are much more efficient.
Also, would you spend money on calling cards or would you rather donate that money?

AT&T has done it already. Will be in news soon. They will not charge anyone who made call to Nepal from 4/25
