Hi Friends,

Most Important thing now for every one of us is Money or Why we come to US,and we always have problem while taking to our manager asking for Rate/Salary Hike.

What would be the best process to talk about salary hike and how can we make a better deal , as I have been working for the same company for more then 2 years?

I have an appointment next week to discuss this matter.

Thanks

At this point in time, be happy with what you have. Consider yourself lucky for having a job and do whatever it takes to stick to it. Ya, just talk normaly about your regular hike and stuff, don't be too demanding. Wait for the economy to revive up a bit and job market to gear up, not this year of course. Then it's time to hit the nail on the head. My golden words are, "Well, I think its time for me to move on and expand my horizons..!!!" And, BANG.. there it is, Let's talk business..!!! If you are hardworking and provide value to the company, believe me, they can't afford to let you move on. If they let you do so, consider that it's really time to move on. I have seen people work for decades and still be at the same place where they started with. PLAY SMART. So, timing is very critical. Like the saying goes, "kahile sasu ko palo ta kahile buhari ko"

The worse thing in life is asking for raise. You loose your credentials. Best thing; stay calm and show it to ur boss, which son of a gorkhali they are dealing with.

As far as I know there is no such "best way" to ask for raise.

Time is money, for now, just suck it up and live with what you got, don't be greedy like Wall St. as McCain says.

GoodLuck....

As far as you work with american people you may ask for the raise if it has been a while like more than 1 year or so.......... That won't affect you credential but you have to show that you deserve a raise. You can start by asking "is it time for my review yet?" or something similar.........Hope this will help......
