The counselor here in KTM told me on my interview day for h1b stamping that one information is missing and they are waiting for that information . They kept my passport and gave me a paper and told me that they will call me in my given number after 2-3 days and I can collect my visa. But, it has been like 4 days including the interview day but till now I have not got any call. Please share experience if you have any in this situation.

Hey Stylish,
You will be fine, same thing happened to me last year. My interview was
on Wednesday and they called me back on Monday. I was told that some
updates are needed in my status and that update cannot be done from kathmandu. Check the white sheet that they have given you, it has a number for consulate
section. They have specified time window for external calls.Call\ them everyday and remind them about your case. And each day, tell them that you were
asked to call. You will get updates. There will be two lines, one for English speaking people and
other for non English speaking people. Go in English speaking line,
that line is easier to get connected. Don't sit and wait for them to call you. Good luck and update us on the
outcome.

Stylish,

Never meant to scare you, just sharing my experience and it does't mean it will take the same amount of time for you too. As "Agressive" suggested don't wait and sit try to contact embassy on daily basis.

Good luck.

Be Agressive, I called like you said and some lady picked up the phone. I told her about my case and she told me that my case is still under processing and some officer is looking at it and she can't do nothing on it. Did you talk to the counselor or the operator by the way ? I believe I talked to the operator...

Hey Stylis, if your case is VISA mantis or TAL (Technology alert list) then it may take around 2-4 weeks to be cleared. But you will get do not worry and enjoy your vacation. Same thing happened to me at Torront Canada and it took total of 23 days to be cleared for me. I hope it will not take that much long for you.
Good Luck.

Anyway, long time back someone suggessted here in sajha to email embassy in nepal stating that you are coming for H1-B stamping, and request them to update your informations. something someone was mentioning PIMPS........can anyone elaborate on this? or even is this a good idea?.....

Also, now a days they tell that it's kind a risky to go for stamping without client letters. Now I know some places they won't write letters, well i have requested my manager here. or do you gusy think i can ask my manager to send email to embassy in nepal.

Also, there were several links here in sajha for discussion, can somone find those discussion links and paste here. ALl helps will be grt!!!!!

Look at something recently Updated !!!!

From Murthy.com

The Murthy Law Firm has received several reports and learned of instances in which H1B employees were sent back home to India after the Christmas / New Year holiday from various airports, particularly Newark, NJ, and JFK in New York, NY. We at the Murthy Law Firm will be contacting both AILA national and the CBP office in Newark and New York. Our effort is to gain clarification and determine the basis for sending H1B employees back to India (or other home countries), and, if this is due to an error of judgment or law, we will seek a reversal of this recent, alarming trend. In addition, a related January 8, 2010 memorandum from the USCIS analyzes the definition of "employer" and "employee" particularly for H1B employees working at third-party client sites. While these two actions may not be related, both demonstrate the current level of government scrutiny of the H1B program. Hence, each employer and employee should operate by strictly following the H1B program requirements.
©MurthyDotCom

We will need to review the events and the USCIS's evolving definitions of relevant laws to determine short, intermediate, as well as long-term lawful solutions to deal with this issue. If an H1B employee accepts expedited removal / deportation (with the government paying the cost of the airline ticket) from the CBP officer, removal may result in a minimum 5-year bar on reentering the United States. If an H1B employee indicates to the CBP officer at the airport that s/he is requesting a withdrawal to enter the United States (and return home on the next flight at one's own expense), s/he is able to apply for a new H1B visa stamp either with the same or a new H1B employer and reenter the U.S. within a few days / weeks.

©MurthyDotCom
We at the Murthy Law Firm will continue to share useful information that we believe will help you to plan your travel or when you change H1B employers.
