All,

If you are currently working or have worked as a QA analyst/Software Tester through consultancy companies - can you please share your experience. I'm interested in knowing
  • description of your assignment
  • whether the training you received was adequate to start out with the first job you were placed
  • how hard was it to learn the automated testing softwares being used
  • what kind of  background you need to have to be able to comprehend how to do the job - like is knowledge of Windows operating system and Office applications adequate or do you need to know programming fundamentals, etc.
  • do you have interact a lot with system engineers, go through requirements doc and come up with test plans or are test plans given to you
