I think its a Brilliant Idea.....if you have a big Nepalese community in Houston. I would suggest you guys to do the delivery to Families with minimum three plates..12 momos each and with like $18...comes down to $6 per plate. research restaurants and find out their price and sell it a couple dollars less..............And people will tip too. Now to be flexible start doing fresh momo, tasty with achaar and also sodas......NOW start making momos and freeze them and sell frozen momo too. so anyone can buy and cook when ever they feel like.......sell it to Nepali restaurants and other asian restaurants as gyozas and dumplings. Get contract from as many restaurants as you can and sell it to them in a cheap but reasonable price....and continue doing the home delivery thing and try to get a loyal customer base...that will lead to give you business is parties and functions and Nepali events. ......Once your business gets big than start your business in other states.......if you ever come to Boston....Look me up. Ill join you.....important ...... get your food liscence........and business name and register it in your town hall. Open an account and get a tax ID.....you can do it yourt self by registering on line at us.gov and look for EIN number or Tax ID number. very very Imp..Make sure the MOMO is very very tasty and dont sell BASI...stale stuff..........

On a more serious note, first of all, operate legally. Also do not lower your prices to the extent that compromises quality, hygene, and profitablity. Given the large Nepali as well as an overall diverse community in Houston, I think you have a very good potential. Unless you can simultaneously start multiple operations, delivering "anywhere in Houston" may not be an immediately viable option as I am sure you know how spread out the metro area is. May be you can start with a single area with a large concentration of Nepalis such as the Hillcroft, Hwy 6, or Clear Lake areas. All that said, you should not solely rely on the Nepali community. Since we have a large Asian community, and many restaurants of Asian origin, a large number of people are already familiar with "dumplings" and "gyozas." Let them enjoy the same familiar product but with our very own unique taste. One of the key elements for a business to succeed is effective marketing and advertising. You can distribute flyers to local businesses. They could generate a significant volume during lunch hours. Also, you can place ads on websites and other publications pertaining to the Nepali community as well as restaurants in general. Just throwing in my two cents..best wishes from a potentially loyal customer of yours :))

pvabhalamja Thanks for liking my Idea. Now regarding Gyoza and dumplings....Thats how Americans and other Asians Know about Mo Mo. When you approach other Businesses who are not Nepalese...they dont know Mo Mo.............anyway momo is gyoza or dumplings .....we just call it mo mo and is much tastier than chinese dumplings or thai Gyozas. I love the taste of our Momo and achaar........I would suggest to have the package name as TASTY MOMO Nepalese Dumpling...............or Nepalese Gyozas.

I would like to appreciate all of you guys for your valuable suggestion.I have more then 600 viewers so i can assume at least 50 people are from houston and at least 30 people like MOMO. So, i am now trying to do the marketing before starting the business ie..making few customer so there wont be downfall on the business as soon as it get started . so guys what will be the best idea to gather all that nepali community living in houston area and let them know that we are starting this ... at last i appreciate Maddogg, chipledhunga,pvabha... and all others who viewed this and are thinking of buying hot momo from us ...

Houstonguys, Congratulations in establishing the first ever Asian food franchise in USA. I am sure that your "Lone Star Momo" will beat current leaders like McDonald's, TacoBell and Subway. With the genuine suggestions from MadDog, you guys really did a great job. I am enticed by your customer satisfaction rating of 9.8/ 10. You have changed the thinking of Americans that only pizza can be delivered. The wide variety, including veg, chicken, buff, beef, pork and goat has made your chain favorite to all religions and all cultures. I specially like your value meal ( 2 dallos of momo) for a dollar. The only thing I would suggest at this point is you need a slogan/promotions like "EAT MORE MOMO" or "Think Inside the Ball" or "Five Dollar Full Pet", which will increase the value of your brand. Guys, I am proud of you and Thank you for reading my note.

How about opening one "Small Scale Nepali Restaurant" wher u can sell "Lone Star Momo" as well as some other nepali food. But the price should be little lower than those of Indian restaurants.

my mom always told me, NEVER open a restaurant or a clothes shop. you'll lose your money. so i'd say no way bai, dont do it. sita used to always joke she'd start a sexy dressed waitress dhal-bhat restaurant in dallas, yeah rite.

Still did not like the idea of using the names like dumpling and gyoza. If we use momo, it will be different and also it will be the taste of Nepal but if u use other name which are already established, it means u are copying others. By using name MOMO, u are also advertising your Country!!! which is good for everyone. To be honest, Dumpling is not famous here in UK. Also, if you are opening resturant, do buffet system once or twice a week. That makes lot of money.

I appreciate all of you guys...nice comments and suggestion!!! So here is the deal .... We are starting 4 kinds of Momo only for right now .... 1. Chilli chicken momo 2. Chicken momo 3. Veg momo 4. Pork momo Do u guys want beef momo too ??? I don't think so !!! We are having some conflicts about the price so we need accurate suggestions from you guys ... You all are customers ...we don't want to compormise on quality .. It will be healthy and cooked right .. I promise!! Each plate contains 12 extra large piece of momo so u won't need any burger , sandwitch or dal bhat..... Each plate will have 2 kinds of achar ... One hot other mild so . Give me idea what achar is best for momo.... We will deliver soft drinks on request.. Our delivery time or opening time basically starts at sharp 1pm-12pm everyday .... If you guys need other time just let me know....
