It's time of the year again. With so much distraction with Steroid and Balco case, baseball is still the America?s favorite past time. Baseball will have another record setting attendant.

It will be interesting to see how guys like Bonds, Giambi going to perform..... How MLB is going to celebrate when Bonds surpasses Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron.....How Yankees revamped starting rotation was going to perform...... How Sammy Sosa going to affect the already strong batting lineup in Baltimore?.. Did Red Sox made the right choice replacing Cabrera with Renteria...... That's only the AL East.

NL East is competitive as ever. Mets went ahead signed the best player and the pitcher in the free agent but is it enuf to beat Braves. Marlins have a great team as well. Are Cardinals going to perform the same way they did last year.

AL West is strong. Angels seems to be better than last year with the signing of Cabrera and Finely. Mariners signed the powerful hitter to fill the corner of the diamond and Ichiro is already having great year, he is hitting .500 during the preseason. Their pitching is suspect though.

It's sad to see future HOF Robbie Alomar is retiring and same with the graceful Andres 'Big Cat' Galaragga.

Here's 2005 baseball team-by-team previews by fox.com which I disagree :)

AL EAST

A familiar showdown

Guess what? The Red Sox and Yankees should battle for the top spot in the AL East again, but this could be the year Boston claims a title that has still eluded it lately.

RED SOX: Champs reload
No Pedro or Lowe, but still plenty

YANKEES: Riches and ruckus
Welcome Unit, but Giambi drama looms

ORIOLES: Sammy comes to town
Sosa adds to loaded lineup

BLUE JAYS: Nice defense
Just the wrong division for this team

DEVIL RAYS: More growing pains
Fun, young team ... that will lose a lot

AL CENTRAL

Twins still too much

The Twins have won the last three division titles, and while some division foes have bulked up, there's no reason to think Minnesota won't rule again in '05.

TWINS: Santana and more
Could have AL's top rotation

INDIANS: Coming of age
Could be surprise team of '05

WHITE SOX: Ailing Thomas
Injury issues could cause problems

TIGERS: Magglio joins Pudge
New additions make things interesting

ROYALS: Youth not served yet
Growing pains could cause problems

AL WEST

Hot competition out West

The A's underwent a slight overhaul and the Angels shelled out millions to create what will likely be one of the closest division races in the majors once again.

A'S: Pitching still powerful
No Hudson, no Mulder ... no problem

ANGELS: The rich get richer
Vlad adds Finley, Cabrera to arsenal

RANGERS: Awesome infield
But pitching could be a problem again

MARINERS: Problem pitching
Scoring won't be a concern though

Start spreading the news, I'm leaving today
I want to be a part of it - New York, New York
These vagabond shoes, are longing to stray
Right through the very heart of it - New York, New York

I want to wake up in that city, that doesn't sleep
And find I'm king of the hill - top of the heap

These little town blues, are melting away
I'll make a brand new start of it - in old New York
If I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere
It's up to you - New York, New York

New York, New York
I want to wake up, in that city that never sleeps
And find I'm A number 1, top of the list
King of the hill, A number 1
these little town blues, are melting away
I'm gonna make a brand new start of it, in old New York
and- If I can make it there, I'm gonna make it anywhere
It's up to you, New York- New York

glad to see this thread on the top. You know why i am not writing in this thread :p

Boss is a genius. He criticize the players and coaches before they are to play Devil Rays :p awesome ain't he??? That's the reason I like the BOSS. heheheheh

Yankees is a veteran team and they will put their act together. Middle relief needs to pitch better. I hope Yankees are trying to make this year three teams race interesting. Orioles is for real and they are as good as other two AL perennials at least offensively.

I am tired of seeing AL Dodgers winning. I don't like how the Paul DaStupido conduct the business. Hope they will cool off soon. I guess I was giving too much credit to Padres than they deserve.

Location: somewhere in Tampa, FL

Boss: Good afternoon boyz. What the hell is wrong with our team?

Conners: Yes Mr. Steinbrenner, we are playing bad and we stunk. Guys can't even hit or pitch.

Cashman: we are not fielding great as well.

Boss: so tell what you think of our roster. Let?s start with Pavano. How is he doing and whose idea was it to get him.

Emslie: That transaction was done from New York.

Levine: He is pitching not bad but how about Jared Wright. It was your and Conners idea to get him and he is not taking us anywhere this year. We don?t know when we going to get back.

Conners: We are still suppose to be playing good with out him

Michael: Our team is not playing what they are capable of.

Boss: So tell me, who we can get and what we need to give up

Levine: A.J Burnett

Conners: are you outta your mind? He ain?t good. He will be heading to DL soon.

Cashman: We need help in outfielder. Mike Cameron or Mark Kostay can help us.

Boss: How about Junior?

Michael: Ken Griffery Jr?

Boss: Yes, you moron. Which Jr else is there

Levine: I don?t think that?s good idea

Cashman: should I inquire about Cameron with Minaya?

Boss: what would they ask for?

Oppenheimer: at least Ching-Meng and Duncan and some cash

Boss: F#%K them. We are not giving away those players. Call A?s and find out.

Newman: can?t we steal Lee from Brewers? Since they won?t be contending and this guy has a big potential to be a great player.

Boss: Cashman, can you also inquire about him? CASH will do the work. And amke no mistake I don?t want other meeting like in this near future. Get rid of Mel and Swindal it?s your job to find replacement. Thansk for coming.

here's what Rob Dibble have to say about the MLB Star and Derek Jeter........... http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/3745186

I agree with Dibble, DJ2 is the most clutch player in the game. He may not be the stat monster and may not Home Run like others but he plays the as it supposed to. He hustles on every play and he is right there when Yankees needed the win. It's really sad that DJ2 won't be playing in Detriot, the city he grew up.

He is leading the American League in Runs Scored category and batting .307 ............ It's his best season comparing to previous 4-5 seasons when he got the nod for the all star. He is on the pace of having career best hits, runs scored, HR.

I would still be watching the all star game and I hope AL will wins the game so Yankees will have the home court advantage on the World Series ;)

This might be the first year that I am not feeling so good about the Yanks. Even though we never had the best pitching line-ups in the past years, I still thought Yanks had a chance coz none other team could bolster similar rotation (other than Red Sox). But this time, it surely looks like it's not Yankees or Red Sox's year.
But still, I'd be rooting for Yanks.
You can stick a fork on METS, they are done. AX, ke ho? METS ko fan lai kina yesto satire?? Spare them would you, lol.

Don't give up yet, DWI. Game and half behind and we got three game series with them. They are only game and half away. It seems there will be another agonizing 86 years of wait for one team. I am glad I won't be around to see them enjoying it :)

Wot you say abou the ROOKIE??? Who says Yankees doesn't have good player in their farm system? Red Sox fans, can you name me a player who has contributed as Cano to your team?

my folks from Queens, NY still frequents this site. just wanted to let them know how great of team they are. So much for landing the biggest prize in the last free agency...... You gotta have a systems to have a successful organization like Yankees. mere copying won't take you anywhere.....I hear they are getting their own network deal, we all know where they got the idea from :)

One more thing AX:

No other player in the history of baseball has hit more RBIs, HRs, made more stolen bases etc than A-ROD when they were as old as he is now (30 yrs old). He is in pace to set a record in every major categories if he continues his stellar performance till he nears retirement age.
Players like him don't come too often (almost Michael Jordaniche), he SHOULD BE MVP, now that Red Sox is losing (if Red Sox makes the playoff, Ortiz might get it).
