Sweetie jiii, Kathmandu was taken over by SHAH from Newar not by Bahun.. And you said 80% bahun in Nepal, you make me laugh..totally wrong figure, find it out whats right? Look at you if somebody say something good, you make different sense out of it..Hello you were bashing about women rights in Remotes and Urban in Nepal, but when come to US you are taking those sort of places(Kentucky, Ohio) as an excuses..Another error --Those places are not cities they are states.. Anyway if they are not consider as famous and developed places, then????? Hell with discrimination goin on there???? Then why don't you leave villages and remotes in Nepal as well???? they are not developed either, can;t we take it as a grant???... Sweetie seems like you are havin fun writing in sajha thats why every now and then your thread contradict with each other..I am sure you arguments are based on all invalid inference.. If you ever happen to watch "Desparate House Wives", more or less you will know difference in gender in America too.. Even if you denied, there are differences..Dont be offended -- You and your husband go for joggin in sunny moring -- when u both feel hot, your husband does not think twice to take of his tees and run half nude , but you can;t do that, can you???? U know why ?? Coz you are NARI and you are bond with different attribute which MEN are not..Hello dear its not discrimination in first place or is it? Well if you think you can say "WHAT THE F**** YESLE KHOLNU HUNCHA MAILE HUDAINA?"..But for sure how hot it is you will not take off, you will tolerate rather...And thats the boundry I am takin about, you got it? Artha ko anartha nalagaunu hola I was just setting an example. By the way why your are so offended when ppl over here talk about similar discrimination practice by American..U even defend them by saying ""minority but not in majority""" And you invite us to go and see in "Newyork, Boston, California" . Why don;t you go to Ohio, Kentucky and other mid-west states.. However you don;t spare a single Nepali Men.. Ohhhhhhhh shit I forgot again you got great great White husband, supposedly you are American, who give f**** to nepali haina????..Give my namaskar to your husband...

Hey sweetiepie......you got me all wrong.....i have already said that everyone is just expressing their feeling from their own point of view.....there's no such thing as right or worng.....coz it's also depends on what kinds of situation you are in. As for you, you are educated and wise......you follows your own instincts rather than following what other have to say. It's seems like you are not that type of person who was brought up in a conservative environment as you say that your parent can speak English, which mean that they are educated and wise too......But that doesn't mean that your cup of tea will be everybody cup of tea too. We are all different individual who were raised up by different family with different backgrounds. Our parents might not be educated. Anyway i didn't say that marrying a foreigner is wrong.....what i was trying to say was that it would be great if everyone could see marrying a foreign as the same way as marrying another castes from our own society. But marrying someone from your own society will benefits more.... but our elders will disagreed to it becoz the other party might be from a lower caste. Like you, i also have no problem marrying a foreigner coz i was born and grown up in a foreign land. But if i wanna marry a person who is from a lower caste than definitely my parents will disagreed to it.......becoz we are all still tied to our relative back in Nepal and unfortuanately my parents have went back to Nepal to settle down for good and to enjoy their retirement. I do not discriminate caste but i can't fight back or go against it too as i am nailed down by the society and my parents too. I don't wanna break my parent hearts who i have know since the day i was born for someone whom i just knew for a couple of years. It might be the same case for lots of the other people too. But anyway......there's lots of other fish in the pond. If i can't marry a certain caste then first of all i won't even approach that person to make the situation too complicated. However it would be really great if everyone could treat others (whether that person is from a higher caste, a lower caste or a foreigner) as equal. Then i can also have more fishes to choose.......heheheheee....but if i still pissed you off then do pardon me........becoz your cup tea doesn't mean my cup of tea too. Cheers.

Hell man, such long posts on such a stupid topic. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS. So let's see how many of u actually preach what u say. My experience, many times when I say ppl my first name, they usually ask for my last name too, if ppl aren't that caste conscious why ask for your second name. Irritating :( Everyone should marry ppl outside their caste, 3 advantages: firstly the discrimination will be gone, secondly and more imp, u wil have BEAUTIFUL children (cough cough), thirdly and the most imp. stereotyping of castes will be removed!!!!!!!!!!

HAHAHAHA!pieces u make me laugh....hey sanu memories, isn't he funny? I am nari because I can't show my chest when I am jogging?? What kind of analysis is that. Yes, I prefer not to..but I show my stomach and legs...I think that's more than enough haha! But a guy can't job without his pant can he? Sure I will give your namaskar to my husband hmm...he will very proud of nepali guy who is soo angry and swears all the time 'cause he can't prove the point...childish! If my husband gave a damn about nepalese he wouldn't marry me dear! By the way, I am not your typical desparate house wife. I have great job, I am active pollitically, tons of extra things on my plate....don't think I am bored..actually I am a very busy person. Don't judge me as others... YEah I should have said hindus instead of bahun right? Are u happy now? Yes ohio and kentucky aren't cities they are states.....not all southern cities are conservative and even within those states not everybody is like that. U have to see this.....NEpal may be the size of one of the state of USA. And USA has 50 states.....here u go u compare yourself. Majority definitely counts not minority. So, If I mean eastern and western part then that means a heck of lot of states okay got it? YEAH YEAH YEAH u men are great and soooooo understanding and open minded. HAPPY?

Sweetie!!! LOL I haven`t responded single in this thread and you annalysed me that I find you annoying LOL....As always you just enjoy writing in the sajha thats all... whether it is true or false you don`t consider it... As for the discrimination of caste system.. yeah there is discrimination in Nepal... and believe me there is discrimination in all over countries too..in one form or another. by saying that I am not saying that discrimination in caste based should be protected. It has to be eliminated but it does take time. How can you eradicate the discrimination of nepal when the dalits has to enter the temple of pashupati by force... and yeah there are hell lots of places where they are not even allowed to enter still. But saying that if you want to eradicate the problem go and marry them is another problem too. Marriage is something different isn`t it you must be more aware about it than me. Yeah there is one way to stop the discrimination to the low caste.. that is by punishment... since I believe that our law has not favoured the discrimination on low caste... which has to be implemented in the local level. But how can you make that efficient when the late prince Dipendra has to wipe off his whole family just because he was in love with the caste that was not allowed to get married. yeah media has to play good roles... there was one television serial from Maha.. called 15 gate... it was nice one...and just I want to take one line from there Saya thari goda euta chal... saya thari baja eutai taal.... These are all our dreams... every single nepalese dreams ..living in the mother land and those in the foriegn land... so stop arguing ... by arguing you yourself are also discriminating someone don`t you.

hello, I find discussion in Sajha thought-provoking. The discussion on caste system debate is important considering the current situation in Nepal. I just want to follow up on that debate and tie it in to the Maoist insurgency. - DO you think the one of the forces behind the emergenc of the insurgency was the 'prevalent caste system' and ethnic disaparities and discrimination ?? I would really appreciate any comments, thoughts and feedbacks. I am hoping to incorporate Nepali voice into a paper regarding this crucial issue in our lives. thanks, Astitwa

Sweetie, let me be nice and cool..No offend this time In first place what make you think my significant other is desparate and typical...? Well, you think I am such and such ; doesn't necessarily mean my girl has to be same..alright!!. As you said, you are not near to 2% of your husband, I am not even closer to 1% of my girl (still not wife, I lied you somewhere in thread)..She is great, as your husband is great to you. Lets not bring them in this debate.. I am not trying to be ironic when I said about takin off tees and about semi nude while joggin, I just wanted to tell u some factual difference between men and women. U think other way around and make fun of me... Infact U made my points more naiive after commenting about a girl's belly and thigh, ya thats difference I was talkin about.. What you can do, I can't and what I can do, you can't -- thats the whole point there . So its baseless to talk about equaility --neither of these breed are equal in each an every aspect. Yeah u r right Nepal is not even size of California or Florida or whatever , but comparision is always based on ratio according to the demographic stucture, I guess you know abou that. Majority of US population consist of coservative community not a rational and liberal.. Sweetie, human rights is after all human rights, shouldn't be discriminated on the basis of number that effects.. Your point is bias, you ignore to take account of minority.. Lets not lengthen this thread any longer -- Solve my last confusion -- I am never against a woman rights and her equal opportunity - but I do sense the difference, that is physiological difference which further determine characteristical behavior. Predominantely this is how the nature..And such characterstic should not be indigify and labeled as a woman rights voilation due to men's mentality and attitude (typically in nepal). Always every time Nepali MAN is not liable for the plight of Woman in Nepal..If you are really running some sort of foundation to help "a woman for her rights"- my two cents suggestion - bring awarness within Nepali Didi , Bahini and Ama, but not by creating psychological conflict with the male figure. Convince one mother to let daughter go to school..Convice one mother-in-law to fight against dowry system..Convince one sister to fight for the justice for her own victimized sister. Thats how We can bring phenomenol changes for the woman by the woman. Next thing, be wise - don't compare world's the richest country with one of the poorest country..However If you want to bring issues about human rights violetions in US and want to oppose it, true figure is in front of you that you cannot avoid, BUSH Administration..If you say BUSH is a faggot who is on his own, then there are still 48% total population who believes in BUSHISM..(BUSHISM is another word of Racism and Human Rights Violetions..)..Somewhere above in this thread I had posted 'cut from Washignton Post' about Hum Right Voiletions in US. You can read that, I you haven't and if you like to know more find about detainee situation in Gutanamo Bay Detention Center. Its horrible out there. Well Sweetie whatever I wrote in this thread applies for your posting title "Woman rights..." as well -- I know you make lots of sense with your points here and there but its way hardcore. Your approach was sort of counter attack to Nepal Community in favor of American.. Just wanted oppose your saying, I became bad ass among you guys--haha.. I am your fan anyway..

Having read through all the posting on the caste system in Nepal, some of the postings really made me laugh !!!! As I have never been to Nepal for about 16+, I feel that I am not qualified to really comment on how the Nepalese in Nepal really think about the cast system.

Caste system is nothing but a 'Divide and Rule' strategy formulated by the rulers. Caste system is a overflow of the survival of the fittest theory in nature - when the rulers who were the 'fittest' catagorized their less 'fit' counterparts to serve them better. In the process putting one group of people in a pedestal while dehumanizing or reducing the human value of some other groups. In today's day and age this catagorization of status is seemingly primitive and in a world where information and skills transcend someone's status on birth, the system of caste allows human beings to discriminate against human beings. ...
