oh come on methodman, what's the point in being so rude?

bullish, by that do u mean nrn's in the us? i hear that many are actually very patriotic. as a 3rd culture kid myself, i do find that sometimes i'm not entirely sure about my identity. it's almost like i'm lodged in that vague gray area between being a foreigner and a nepali.

To all,
Here bullish is asking if ABCD are confused ? If so why is that ? It is not a stupid question. If it really sounds stupid, how can you modify the question not to sound stupid. Just give your analysis.

Now are all ABCD confused of their identity? (Ala identity crisis)

And,

If ABCD are confused ? If so why is that ?

ARE two different question albeit begs to explore similar premise.

Chotkari ma uttar dinus aka (Yes/No)
Or, Bibechana garnuhoss ( explain in detail exploring the why/what/How factors).

Aba bichar chai pachi paskim la hai ta.

OH! now to the original poster...

In this great free country, If you're white, you're ok. If you're black, you're ok. If you are anywhere in between, you're fked up. now go figure :) well, that's what my friend tells me,

If you ask for my honest opinion, Nepalis are more confused than the abcn. Just go to one of those celebration of the nepali festivities. At least our deemed confused brodas, try to add element to the significance of the festival. Hey! they might not know, they may look stupid, but they TRY! while the rest of the castrated goats get a lame excuse to drink, and gossip about the abcn's.

Hey but who's complaining. We get free lessons in bhangra, Reggae n hip hop, and occasionally a flitty, confused grinding too :). I don't wanna be pakhey dancing in lok geet and all.....

Flitty confused grinding... now the fuk do you do that? Either you grind in full conciousness or you run away with disgust... there is no confusion about that... Trust me!

हरे!!

Well it depends on what kinda "confusion"

When they come home, its a different world for them. When they go to school, its different.

Their parents try to teach them nepali culture and values etc., which, unless they live in virginia, or texas (densly populalted by Nepalese), could be very confusing to them.

Well, its not about the skin color, its about the environment where they are raised in. The "cultural difference" between their friends and family.

Most of have to "act" different at home, coz their parents want them to. Well some of em appreciate their parents for caring abt them so much, and teaching their original values etc. Some of them kinda get frustrated.

Sorry abt all the spelling and grammarikdjftical errors.

Thank you vey much and... ofcourse, प्रणाम्

How come dancing in Lok Geet and all is being PAKHEY? You my friend if Indians have thought just like u than whould u be dancing in Bhangra beat rite now? nope.
It seems you are not ABCN if u were than you wouldn't have said that.

You are absolutely right but what is the guarentee that growing up in this place makes u much familier with Nepali culture. It all comes to how the parents approach to their kids to teach Nepali culture. As some of us have seen that some Nepali parents bragging that their kids don't know how to speak Nepali as if its some acheivment. At last it goes to both end what is the approach of one halves and how the ohter halves takes it.
But i do somewhat agree with Snurp that just showing some nepali movie dance number and eating MOMO and Choyola in Nepali party won't be much help to ABCN's.

BTW its cycle Nepali Immigrants have different prespective of ABCN, so the ppl who are living in Nepal holds for those students and immigrants. Its just so funny why we are so divided? why don't we understand our strength? Have to go no further than india to get example how NRI have contributed for her developement.
