Since Nepal is now a secular state, is it legal to butcher beef now?

thats depends on the fact, who so far in nepal was a cow never butchered, was it coz nepal was not a secular nation before, or was it because of how we nepali connect emotionally, culturually, and religiously to cow.

i hate this kinda questiona, which is just asked to create more turbulance and more arugments.

Silly question.

' Secular' is not defined as 'Butchering or not butchering cows'. In secularism, its just that the state n government will now not get involved in or support any religion. 'Protecting cows' is a theme deeply ingrained in the cultural beliefs of majority of Nepalese population which is 'hindu'. So the sentiments of the majority should always be respected.

And for your kind information, in 21 out of the 28 states of so called 'secular' India also, killing cows is banned and is a punishable offence. In Nepal too the law against 'butchering cows' still exists, and I don't thnk that's going to change, be it 'secular' or 'hindu'. Do you think that 'killing pigs' will be allowed in 'Saudi arabia', 'Malaysia','Iran' or 'Pakistan', if by any chance they are declared 'secular' countries?

Well Hindus are supposed to be vegetarian, never harm any other living creature. We moderate to kill the goat. Priest protested at that time, and accepted latter on. Now we were not allowed to kill the chickens; that was protested as well while the young generations didn’t care what ever the older generations said; Yet the chicken was also acceded letter on.
And came the buffalo in the momo. It was protested yet again, and now people also seem to have accepted the buffalo, Yamraj’s vehicle (Bahaan).
Now it is just the matter of time that cow is in the menu and is accepted, along with the new generations of Hindus.

Can I kill you now?
Being secular state doesn't mean that you do whatever you wanna do. There is something called religion, tradition, belief, you stupid, how can you even think of that.

Secular country doesnt mean we should butcher a cow .......its about religion...so its absurd to create a topic like this...........nepal is a country where hindu respect buddhist religion and buddhist respect hindu......buddhist also celebrate a dasai and hindu also celebrate buddha jayanti....its all about respecting each other culture and religion so those who think that now nepal is a secular country so people will butcher a cow is a moron....(murkha ko raja)....

Why? You guys think cow is God? Thats phucking retarded! If cow is God, all the animals are God. Goat is also God, then why do u phucing eat goat? If we can eat buff, and chicken, why not cows? HInduism also says not to eat chickens, but we still do. If we can eat ham, why not beef? Do that have blue blood or something? If your ethics doesn't allow you to eat cows, then don't, but don't say "WE" should not eat cows. Who are you or anyone else for that matter to say what i shoud eat and what i shoudn't.
Besides, beef is deicious! :P

You stupid money aass, why don't you try to understand the fact, yeah you are right, our ethic says not to eat cow, so,we don't. Cow is known as "MOTHER" in our country, If a mother dies after giving birth to a baby then, that baby is feed on cows milk. If you can eat your mother flesh then you are free to, just do one thing, stop arguing in your stupid questions.

It is illegal to slaughter a cow in Nepal, but still I have heard that gorus and bachhas are being slaughtered around Boudah area. Now we becoming secular state cows can be slaughtered without any fear of getting arrested I guess.
