Our countrymen are talking about NEW NEPAL.Being positive, let's hope for better Nepal...We can not build new Nepal just by talking...it is time for act and let us act together...Let's build sajha fund and contribute for education in Nepal...

How can we contribute?I have my two cents here and add yours and finally we go for consensus.
1) Let's contribute $5 initially to become a member of sajha(Not for SAN)
2)Let's contribute 5 cents per posting to any thread.

If San manages the way to contribute,I just start contributing now..
There may be lots of other ideas for Sajha fund..Please come forward ...

This is time for contributing to build new Nepal...Let's forget which political beliefs we have for next 10 years...Let's do something for better Nepal...

Be positive,let's start now..

Ratobhaley...we are doing it for good reason and for me he seems to be a good person even if I do not know him personally...either we can trust him or we can build this fund differently...

let's wait for few days for other suggestions too..

Good idea but we have to make sure that its secret because

what happens if the nepali politicians hear about our fund,
they will quarrel inside the singadurbar for that money

Well just a thought, why don't you ("Some people with same ambitions") start a NGO yourself (NGO of all Nepali Members) I would very much like to help my self. Get in contact with some people in Nepal to work with, People who you can trust, friends, families and so. Who are not greedy or think of cheating you.

I saw a same ambition few months ago in sajha, to help one girl or boy get education by you contributing some amount every month.
You see all these, save children, Red Cross and other humanitarian work originations collecting money in the streets. Why don’t we ourselves create a slogan and create a origination "Build New Nepal".

It would be great if we Nepali ourselves could help build our country up, and built it to be a better place to live.

I wouldn't mind contributing some money my self to built a web site. There are lots of Nepali out in Nepal who needs job and labour is cheap just $100 you can make them create a great website, and $100 per. Month, they can host and administrate it as well.
There are lots of skilled Nepali around the globe, who could use their skills in the part time and help us. I am sure they all want to help when it is a matter of Nepal, coz we all love our country deep down.

I see loads of Nepali here going clubbing and boozing, they could contribute a price of two beers to the hungry children out in Nepal, we could make a donation box and place it in every restaurant, gas station, or store owned by a Nepali.

Not only outside, also in Nepal we could go to every home and ask them to contribute price of one chocolate, or give one hand full rice to the hungry people in the streets.

To keep Nepali streets and environment we could ask the government make a law that who ever throws trash in the streets to fine them, and to keep the streets in front of their house and shops clean, if it is not then to fine them, and with that fine they could hire a man to clean the streets up, and put a trash can every where. But this is just a political idea.

We have shown the world that we ourselves can solve the conflicts in our country, why not show the world also that we ourselves can help our people, and help build our own country.

We could create a membership and so on, I have lodes of Ideas but I don't have any friends with the same ambitions.

If anybody is deep serious and want to do something, then I am always ready participate.

Gurudev, you are right....few months ago,I started a thread to educate a child and it was succeful attempt to initiate people...I only afraid that image of NGO back home is very negative(you know how it was handled in past)..Let's make core groups and start from there...

let's wait few more inputs and after that we form a core group and start this project...

What do you say GURU?

I surely would love to help. When I was a member of Leo Club back home we adopted a small village not that far from Kathmandu. What we use to do is we use to build them what they are in need of. Like School, play ground, workshop for adults, health care etc. Small things but with effective way we use to organize and full fill what they are lacking of. This will help them and us to get the good out put in many ways. We never gave them money and we should not do that. If we are educating children then we should let them have what they need to get educate and make sure that parents will never interfere when it comes to there education (as some of the parents make children work as adults. Like getting water more than what they can carry, wash cloths etc.) If we are helping adult people then we should know what there ability and in what they are good so that they can earn and be independent rather than, they start expecting the money from the donors and live a lazy life and trust me there are people who enjoys donors money and do nothing but enjoy the day playing cards and drinking and surely abusing women. There are so many things that we can do if we come together like AIDS awareness is one of them which is getting worst day by day. If we don’t educate this AIDS on the first hand it is of no use helping anyone as it will be too late to do what we are planning to do. If this gets infected to the parents and the baby they get. All the work that we do surely will go in vain. So we need to get focus on what we plan to do and priorities as what is important so that the rest plan falls in the system to see progress. Rather jumping everywhere and getting nowhere. Any suggestion and help….I’m in!

I am all for doing something for Nepal. But when we are talking about raising fund for nation building we are not talking about few hundred dollars. It could very well be hundreds of thousands of dollars. We need to think about accountability too.

Mike dai,Chitwan ko tyo parsa bhanne thauma eti daani manchhe rahechhan ki eutaile 17 lakhs donation garechha(we in America just talk),that place has very good school and people from those area do not need our help, they are building school and campuses themselves...we need to focus backward area not parsa,kathmandu,Biratnagar,Pokhara..there are other places where we can do something...

In another note,I don't think that we are talking here to prepare budget of Nepal...small contribution will be added plus in process of restructuring Nepal...

Thanks for taking a look at this thread though
