that's red very red chinese pencil was devil of his time, but that's was a funny thing in school life.I think that pencil was made for teachers not for students ,I think allmost all the chucchi miss try that formula ,i don know why it became famous that time ,its rubber was also a rubbish at the back,it was pretty funny in that early 90's to see students frightened by their own pencil.

........terrified indeed I used to be. question time , I used to lie low in the seat, divert eyes or completely hide under the bench ( that used to work as the classrooms were crammed with benches & the class size was never small) & never took front row and side rows seats......

..... I used to sit behind the big and tall students thinking the teachers will not see me and that works for many times but if ur teachers loves to walk all the time in classrooms ,then no way ,its nightmare again ,

I heard that a student died in water tank in Vanasthali in late 80's or early 90's. Is that true?

tell me if you guys remember these guys:
Bhim darshan roka--passed away recently, but an amazing teacher.
Gaurishankar--loved the way he threw the duster after solving a problem and erasing the blackboard..wonder what he is doing now.
Pin Bahadur Baniya--probably the worst teacher I had in school...all I remember is him reading off some one else's notes, and us furiously copying it.
OUR HEALTH TEACHER--forget his name, but loved the way he turned read when he had to explain the female reproductive system in the 10th grade.
UNDP- bijaya miss--I am not sure why I still remember her..ahhhh..I know now :)
Kukhure--still remember him teaching us about kukhura palan, and machha palan. and screaming kukhure from the top floor when he walked by.
rajbanshi senior---saale baam
rajbanshi jr (jetho)---how many beauty misses did he boink?
Wanta miss---once again, dunno why I remember her except those huge......
That nepali sir, was it mohan? anyway, did any of you notice how he got so touchy touchy with all the pretty girls in class? I think he is a pedophile
hated churamani
hated khopadi
hated dhaicha miss
tek sir and hari sir were funny
hated saisav kale
scared to death by that big black bhote kukur, wass his name?
loved and hated kashi lal sir at the same time.
and loved rosco, reema, bobby, sona, arati, rashmi, pratigya, sonee..oh my god....the list is endless.

I think it was dhungana sir who taught reproductive organs. Best Sir i've ever came across was Binsu bahadur Shrestha Sir who used to teach english. he threw a stick left by another teacher in the class and got really mad saying childrens are not animals to control with sticks. I respect him till now. Most others were ignorants.
I used to get nightmares, and flashes by their punishments. I have noticed that most vanasthalins lack the ablility to present themselves, go forward and show leadership qualitities. I think it is somehow those activities by the teachers that are responsible for such lackness. I could be wrong tho...
I've seen children tied in a tree all day with a big note saying, I bunked school. I have seen girls made naked just cuz they didn't do the homework, i've seen teachers beating up 12-13 yr olds like animals with fist and kicks. What a horrible way to get raised. I hate that school and the teachers but miss some of my friends.
My friends and i never sat up front , we always sat in the back and looked down, hoping that we'll be saved from the trouble.
Buses were crowded, too many dadas, too many fights, teachers were abusive, no water fountain, bathrooms with horrible, with shittt everywhere, and stinky that you would vomite or piss , one or the other... really horrible school.. i don't know how is it noww....

Well I agree with you dyamn on what you are saying but I think most school and teachers were like that those days. I have not been at Vanasthali for about 10 years but I heard from my friend that it has changed a lot now. Taking about cruelty, I have been beaten and embarrassed by one nepali teacher just for wearing a baseball hat. I was at 6th grade that time and according to him, only cowboy in America wears that kid of hat. What an ignorant. And there was that sob CK, I still hate him. I don’t even know how many times he has beaten me. When I was at 3rd grade there was a pale (gate person), forget his name, but he was like dada and used to punch us for nothing.

Jyalincha,
I was a student of Bhim Darshan Rokka. I heard that he died of Cardiac Arrest few years ago.Summer and Winter Vacation , I used to spend at his place. He was one great personality. I always admired his spirit and enthu. There are few things which he taught , I will never forget .I used to take Nepali Language classes from him too. Later, he recommended Mr.Tek for that as I was kind of beginner with Nepali . Tek was one funny and very smart person in terms of everything.
There was one more teacher from your school which is worth mentioning here, Uttam Bajracharya. He taught me Grammar. He is one teacher I really respect, though a bit harsh.

cleopatra, you are absolutely right, Roka sir was one of the most influencing personalities of my life also. I want to reminisce a bit here:
It was holi time, and we punks were throwing lolas at every girl we saw. Roka sir was of course 'hunna baa, hunna'. Anyway, as we were in line after school to get into our buses to go home, we still could not resist throwing them lolas to hapless girls. Roka sir caught me in the act and he came after me. Of course he walked with a limp, so I was able to avoid capture and run. The next year, my final year at Vanasthali, he was my english teacher. my english was somewhat decent back then, so he would always use my exam paper to pass around other sections before handing it back to me. Every time though, there would be a small note asking me to stay away from throwing those lolas to girls in school-just to remind me he had not forgotten!
It was only after I came to the US that I found out he was a well known literary giant of our time...also known as one of the pioneers of nepali muktak. When I was in Nepal last year, I actually went to Vanasthali just to sit down by his mural. I knew he was gone, but not sure when. moot point though, guys like him will always be in our memories.
