 So irritating, sounds like politician to me. Like the way she said unity. Thats's true Nepalese in US have like gang mentality. Why is she just talking about making money n work. What about students. There might be very very few homeless Nepalese so really don't have to think about coming to USA twice. It's a great country with opportunities. Not only hardworking pays off u need to use some brain to be successful here because there r so many successfull non-Nepalese here already.

Can't be bothered to mull over what she said as her rebuttal for her previous comments as I didn't watch her other video to entirety.

However, she made one valid remark about pathetic approach taken by Nepali organizations in a community - that of, one organization completely ignoring any event organized by some other Nepali organization in the same community. This segregation is truly mind baffling. 

she's acting like she visited all the states and saw Nepali homeless in every state. also she says she was smoke cigarettes not weed for women's liberation and equality. what a liar. how did she manage to get visa? she was dancing in support of maoist few years ago. she should've been denied and banned from coming to the usa.

Looking at her and listening to her pretty much sums it up how backward our nepali movie industry is. She came to Los Angeles to show her movie. I am pretty sure 10% of Nepali in LA didn't even attend the event (i didn't and i wouldn't). I mean just LOOK AT HER! Who the hell want to ruin their weekend evening watching this annoying creature? I would rather want Karishma Manandar as an actress than this lame b*tch!

btw, I once heard she gets beaten/slapped by her husband who "happens" to be a movie director as well.

First of all, I agree that whatever she said in her interview was a generalization of the Nepali commune in the USA based on a few experiences she had had. Her comments, specifically the one where she claimed to have achieved nirvana, cracked me up as well. 

Having said that, don't you guys think our expectations from a Nepali actress who joined the film industry at an early age are a tad too high? We all know the state our film industry is in right now, and we are very well aware of the fact that if she were entitled to the privileges that some of us are, she would not be doing films in the first place. I am not taking sides here, heck I haven’t watched a single movie by Rekha Thapa. However, what else can you expect from an actress who hasn’t had too much education, has a poor command in English, and was in the states for the first time?  Well, if all our actresses spoke flawless English, delivered cogent speeches, and were as knowledgeable as some of you guys, our film industry would not be in the state it is in now, would it?

Again, before I piss off other people here, I am not taking sides. All I am suggesting is we have to take it for what it is. For guys drooling over Ash or Jen Lawrence, or even Jharana or Namrata, Rekha Thapa doesn’t come close, and we all get it. She isn’t your idol, but I am sure there are masses of people in Nepal who still admire her for what she is, and that is something that will change when we can change the socio-economic and the film-making status of the country.

Given how discussions in sajha go, I’m going to say this yet again- I’m not saying you guys shouldn’t drop criticisms on what she said – which was both false and humorous. I enjoyed it as much as I enjoy watching the Kardashian sisters talk about getting their rears x-rayed (is that a word?) to falsify rumors of implants. There are less knowledgeable people in every country’s glam biz, so let’s take it for what it is! 

I don't know much about her other than the fact that she is apparently an actress back home.
Having said that, I did hear her talk about her finding a homeless Nepali. I wasn't sure what she meant by that, but I think she well clarified what her point was in this video. If the Nepali community in US is still mad at her for that statement, then they are just hating. She found a homeless guy and she is telling it as is. Don't pretend we don't have destitute Nepalis here.

As I was about to stop the video, she made a comment about absence of the big Nepali community while she was here. I don't understand this; was she expecting all the Nepalis to come there with flowers to welcome while she was there? Sure we might not have one binding body that brings us all together; it'd have been nice to have it but is that a problem if we don't have it? Nepali community in US has progressed geometrically over the last few years and it is impossible for the whole community to act in unison all the time. Even the ones who criticized her, are part of a very small fraction of Nepalis living here. Trust me, most of us don't give a hoot about what she is saying anyways.

But all in all, she was pretty clear on her interview (at least the first 5 minutes that I watched) and didn't seem like she deserves all the criticism.

@Rahulvai, good analysis. Having not followed her closely or even watched her interview completely, I have nothing much to say about her.

 If she has the right to advise people about the situation abroad, we have rights to express our opinion about things that we do not garee with.
