It was a challenging decision after spending about 15 years in this country. But we finally made a decision, if we want to return to Nepal, the time is now as the kids are young so it'll be easier for them to adjust in Nepal.
It made so much sense for us to move back to Nepal because of family and many other things. After all, it's your country !
Bye USA.

@Racheeta
Sorry, if you have already mentioned it but would you mind sharing us why you are moving back to Nepal?
Would love to hear your story.

it would be way difficult-frustrating to adjust for couple of months..but eventually things would be back to the normal as it's the country you're born.

GOOD LUCK

Nepal, USA, India, Canada, this is all in your head. We're global citizens. In this modern day and age , it doesn't matter where you live as long as your leaving your life peacefully and with joy. The landmarks and borders are made by people. what is Nepal for you? is it the mass of land situated between china and India that lured you back, or the people , or the culture? The land is land , it's soil whether in US or in Nepal, if you went back to Nepal because of culture or people they have also change in 15 years, they are more changed if you expand the time bracket to 50 years and more if you do that with 100 years. So culture is changing as well, so why does it matter if you live in the US or in Nepal, the culture is changing everywhere, and the main point is you need to change too. Do you think Nepal was always there? do you think your ancestors just grew from soil in Nepal, they did not migrate from other places in the past? The rule of life and anything in the world is change. if you feel like you need a change from your US life and need to go back, thats your're personal story. some others in Nepal may not find that appealing and may be desperately waiting for dv results after living in Nepal for 30 years. You do not deserve a medal for going back, not should stories like this deserve to be posted on public forum to gain wah wah.. good for you, now just leave and don't let the door hit you on your way out... btw, thanks for paying your social security for years and leaving those for me and others who gonna retire here.. must appreciate.. but oh no, you're probably going to send your US born kids back to US.

very wise decision Racheeta ji, its never too late. I am moving to Nepal forever too after 2 yrs. People here treat us like outsider. They think we come here because we are poor and uneducated. Every day I have to get humiliated at work. I would rather stay in Nepal and live as a first class citizen than live as a third class citizen in US. Lot of immigrants just gets drowned in that melting pot I believe. Here life is luxurious but I was never satisfied and always feel lonely.

Racheeta,

Congratulations on your bold decision. You have probably rightly realized that true happiness and complete satisfaction stands head and shoulders above everything else.

If you have the option to stay in Nepal for at least four or five months continuously before making this leap, it might be worthwhile.

Anyway, could you share why you decided to return for good? I think the followers of this thread would be interested to learn of your perspectives.

Everyone has a unique situation and in your particular case it must have made complete sense. All the best to you.

घैटो मा घाम लाग्दैछ | लु लु बधाई छ | welcome to the group bro/sis.
back in 2006-2007 many indians returned to india and see where it is now in terms of development. India is one of the violent countries in the world still now.

I once walked a mile or 2 in one clean urban area of usa and when I reached home and cleaned my nose, those black thing came out from my nose pollution.

I used to say the same about returning back to Nepal. I was just like you Racheeta, but trust me when I stayed there for 4 months last year it completely changed my mind. I can't live in Nepal with those conservative minds. People in Nepal think that they know everything and if you try to educate them they will just ridicule you. Nepal is a dumping site and I don't have any hope for Nepali. I am a very optimistic person, but when it comes to Nepal and Nepali, I am just hopeless. Please don't go!! Your kids will have better life and future if you stay in the US. Nepal ma aaloo kheti garna lai ni dusta huna parcha. Fatai nagari kehi hudaina and I don't think I can be as fata as any Nepali in Nepal. Everyone is fata in Nepal, from bus ko khalasi to netas. Public transport sucks, khalasi le kya hepcha, bato khattam cha, paani aaudaina, ganaucha sarir, batti chaina, life ko guarantee chaina, sabai hospital kathmandu mai chann ( more than 1000 hospitals), but to get to any hospital it will take you at least 2 hours because of traffic. Neta chor, janata goje fata, byapari chor, pariwar le kura sundainanan. You will get frustrated!!! Please don't go!!!! NEPAL is a dumping site!!!!!!

He/she should have option of coming back, if things really didn't work out. I have seen lot of got adjusted and also a lot who came back again after trying for around year. So it might work or it might not, but hey it's worth trying, if you get fascinated by love for your country or family back there.

Like others I also like to know about personal situation back home, like financial situation, business or job situation, wealth, age & things like that to correlate my self. I am getting very close to make such decision, and like to get some reference from people , who have make that call. I am here for last 10 yrs, and I think I should make some decision in next 2-3 yrs.

Returning back to Nepal for good is not always, by default, a good idea. It depends on the person's personal situation.

Racheeta made a good decision. It doesn't matter whether you are citizen or GC holder, we don't belongs here. You don't want to raise your kids in this fucked up country. You don't wanna see some Nigger banging your daughter at your house in front of you and you say it's America.

Dear Sajhas,

I spent four months in Nepal last year. People asked me how much money I made, how much bank balance I have, my neighbors want to have alcohol party just for nothing etc. People talk about you more than solving their own real problems. A high school graduate Sachib from Ward/Village committee has more legal knowledge than you have (no matter you have PHD from USA). It took five days to register a marriage. There is no customer service in any of the licenses, passport, municipal and malpot offices and no numbering system to call people for their service (no first come first service at all). There is no guideline to fill out any application for anything. It all depends on employees attitude. They can accept same day or call you tomorrow or take weeks to accomplish a task. I spent few days in Kathmandu. We have to hang inside bus to travel. People are more than the city can handle. You cannot withdraw your money from your own bank account if your signature doesn't match your original signature. I think Nepal never changed. Success is always measured on accumulation of wealth. A cab driver from New York who earns 4000 dollars a month has more respect than a person who make 2000 doing office work in New York. I am not judging on profession but Nepalese see only success on saving/accumulating wealth.

So OP will keep listening why she returned to Nepal, what happened ? etc instead of welcoming and assimilating in Nepalese society. Sorry to say we as Nepalese even have not started a line to be as first world country. Never happen.

I liked relatives from villages who are happy with their little farming, enjoying their lives and have courtesy of taking care of their incoming guest.
