The following Nepalese Rap song is the most controversial nepalese song ever. It has caused a huge debate over the censorship and ethical issue. What are your views regarding this issue? Your comments would be highly appreciated.

I listened to it, and there's one word that describes it perfectly: CRAP!
Pimping is not just about having sex or indulging in promiscuous activities. Ask us playas how tough it is to be a pimp, know what I mean?
The guy who made that crap seems to think that hiphop is all about swearing and cussing. Hell, even party rap has a theme. What exactly is the theme of this gentleman's "rap"? It's just about swearing, ain't it? Kinda reminds me of that song, "My neck, my back, lime my p*ss and my crack". These types of songs are boring at best, amusing at worst.
If you're looking for deep, meaningful rap, try Nas and Chino XL.

They say any publicity is good publicity...

I am usually supportive of upcoming artists but I really felt sorry for the people who came out with songs like this. Like someone mentioned above, hip hop is just not about having sex or dissing women. its about going to deep roots and exploring problems. I am fine with swearing...AS LONG AS IT is used well... Anyone can SWEAR with background beats and have a rap song..but it takes a real hip hop artist to lyrically assasign without going dirty. The song sounds like rambling of horny teenage kid behind the mike...Anyway there is so much you guys can rap...SO MUCH...look at the situation in Nepal..or your life..

If you really need to listen to good music to get inspired from...listen MOS DEF.....NAS..etc...go deep man...it will make good music.

Yeah dude, Mos Def seems to be a prolific lyricist. Ever watched Def Poetry Jam on HBO?

Seems like some of the most prolific rappers don't seem to be in the mainstream. Guess people just like party rap or something. Talib Kweli is good too, but he ain't mainstream.

Yup, swearing is an art. It's about venting your frustration. Eminem uses it well. He might say that he wants to kill his momma, but look at it through his lens. His momma was one b1tch, know what I mean?

So man, swearing does not a good rap make.
Most of these mainstream rappers suck major dingdong. WTF happened to Snoop Dogg? Used to be good once upon a time, but now it's all about smoking chiba. And what's with mention his Crip history after every one of his song? We all have known for ages that he's a gangsta. No need to shove it down our throat.

So basically, the Nepali rapper sucks big hanging dingdong. I don't mind all the cussing as long as it is done with some thought. Alright, you wanna give somebody the "pink slip"? Put it in context. Why? For what reason? Where?
Try telling some story. 2pac was a master at that.

Agreed.

Most of the rappers are bling bling, I got this ..I got that, self proclaimed ...great rappers..

Even though Tupac was hypocritial at times..he was still good..he has some amazing ..tracks....which makes him so awesome. Eminem on the other hand is an entertainer, he just entertains people...you really can't take anything seriously from him....he is good at wht he does...

The great thing about MOs Def and Talib ( they did an album togehter) is that they have good knowledge of music...Mos Defs songs range from rap to rock.. he is so versatile..I DIG his song...Close Edge...amazing song.. such a nice flow!!

Well, I hope hip hop doesnt die with wannabe gangstas...I hope there will be voice to beats that likes of Dre provide..

I don't know what dj Kartell thinks he is but he claims to be the first dj to use digital turntable and just wanted to let him know that this is the USA. Once again the United States Of America and I can prove to Dj kartell(this name sucks) that there have been other Nepali dj's to have used Digital turntable before he did.

Peace Out

Oh my gosh!!! I am soooo not amazed wit the song and a band. I have no words to describe those b***h boys who learnt so much from Brooklyn and Queens. I really have to admit that these boys really went out of words in their song. Well if all Nepalese can be rappers like that, Nepal can be America too? right!!! You don?t have to agree wit me!!! Hella good for the per***t guys who leans on to Brooklyn and New York for their debut songs. Well we think we are better as human beings and we don?t need to be what we are not. And this songs show that we are still barbaric as a person and in mind. Can we come up with something better of what we are, and how we are. Praise these guys? siblings who are able to communicate and relate to the rap so called music in Nepali. Bless these people and their music. Peace out!!!!!!!! Not missing can we give u the most prestigious award!!! We can vote!!!! And we can all hear you peace of Sh**. Coz we all want to be Nepali rappers

Exactly Defence, i have known and seen so many nepalese dj's using the digital turn table. These young kids .. they think whatever they do hasn't been done just lookin at the nepalese community that they are livin' in. There are many nepalese in other part of US, not only in NYC. And the song ain't got no vibe or any hip into it. My dog barkin has more tune and more lyrics than that song. Wish these new generation would understand the real hip hop.

I doubt this so-called "dj" even knows what turntable means. Some "dj" he is.

Altho this isnt great song (decent at best) nor the first explicit nepali rap as he claims...it is more than what the rest of you jackasses are capable of...lol at some of you idiots trying to offer him advice into making more "deep meaning" raps..then name-dropping chino xl, talib kweli, and mos def as if you know something about hiphop cause you watched an HBO special...this cat is doing his thing, and if he got more than 1300 downloads as he claims then he must be doing soemthing right....how many songs have yall faggits made?? and if you have how many have gotten downloaded??....thats right, zero.--so shut up...

I laughed at some of your sissyboy replies "I think its ok to swear AS long as ITS USED WELL"...Well check out this rap I just thought of "Fuk you bitch...Ill fuk you quick...Im gonna fuk you with my dik"....how you like that rap??

and this is my message to the artist: If you are making this songs because it is genuinely you, that is fine....but if this is not who you are and you are saying these words just to be controversial and get attention that is not going to to gain you credibility as an artist...I say that only because I heard your other songs and they are nothing like this one....but whatever, you do you...and dont listen to these FOBs trying to give you advise on how to rap...their extent of hip hop knowledge is limited to eminem, 50 cent and HBO documentaries.

Yeah, those rappers are superficial at best. Li'l Kim talks about sh1t like that all the time. Then you got R & B singers who do it too. What's that song by 20 fingers? "Don't need no short d*ck man" Or what about "One Minute Man".
Hey now, if you like generic crap, go ahead, it's your prerogative, but it ain't my cup of tea is all I'm saying.
Read what I said, before spouting like a madman.
Oh gee whiz, with a name like methodman, you sure are very original.

I apologize if last post rubbed you the wrong way...but yall were coming down on this cat too hard...I agree with you, I dont really like this song, but apparently others did if he got that many people downloading it....As far as this being generic or whatnot, I dont know wtf you would classify as "original" rap??? You think Mos and Talib are original cause they rap about struggles of the blackman, and how they have been mistreated ignored during black history month??...Im sorry, but there are a bunch of other artists who rap or have rapped about the same topics...And sorry to burst your bubble, but even your beloved Eminem is not original....He emulated a boston rapper known as Cage and got his lil crazy whiteboy facade...If you dont believe me listen to his first album when he was known as "Infinite"...Amazingly, he rarely curses throughout the album, does not talk about slitting throats or humping his mother, or any of the shit he does now...Does that take away from his greatness???...Hell no, he took someone else's style and added his own flavor to it and made it even greater...Anyways, my main point is that keep in mind this guy is not a professional by any means, so to compare him to people who do it for their livelihood is unfair...but also you talk about this being "generic" , sorry but this is no more generic then any of the music by the artists you mentioned.

No hate, dawg..Just my two cents.

No, no need to apologize, but dude, this guy is tooting his own horn. He's a blowhard. Hell, if it were just his rap minus the arrogance I, or anybody on this board, wouldn't be complaining about it. Statements like "The following Nepalese Rap song is the most controversial nepalese song ever" tell me that this guy has one inflated ego. Or maybe he's looking for a little attention.
Anywho, yes, you're correct, Eminem is a very talented artist. His recent album was mediocre, but I guess you're probably familiar with the Benzino vs Eminem feud. Eminem basically bitchslapped Benzino and the Source. If you haven't already I recommend you download the sauce and nail in the coffin. Now as to your comment that Eminem is unoriginal, I beg to differ. How many mainstream rappers do you know with the same controversial style he likes to use? A couple, maybe? Not even a handful, right?
No, you don't have to rap about the struggles to be a good rapper. Download Chino XL's Kreep(which you prolly downloaded already), it's quite good. Ice Cube's "nigga ya love to hate" can be called a struggles rap, to use your phrase, but the dude could rap about anything once upon a time. Now he has put his rapping career on a backburner, I must say, since he's an actor more than a rapper. So that's one of the hallmarks of a good rapper, ie be able to rap about anything. I must also concede that there are some one-dimensional rappers out there who are very good at what they're doing.
So the basic problem here is the Nepali rapper's hubris else nobody here would be whining. But I must say his publicity stunt is working.
