I am in the same situation. I faced the interview on June 19th 2012, they requested for additional documents which i submitted in a week. Since then my case is under admin processing. I called the embassy for my visa update, they said it may take from 2 months to a year to resolve any case. I am stranded in Kathmandu for almost a month now.

This is the same case that happend to me when I had applied last year.I had to wait like 1 year, and later after 1 year got message saying that there was not enough cooperation from your employer.I could not believe that thes Indian cosultancies lie by stating that they have submitted all the papers to USCIS when they do not.I had MBA from USA so I tried Australia i am happy here no such frustration ,good life so my suggestion is to try somewhere else even if you get visa(10% chance once paper is sent to USCIS dont expect to get visa) you will also have to apply for renewal and same check  is sure chance in EVC model and when there is Indain Consultancy involved and how will you get the Green Card. Think early think wise and try for some other alternatives like Canada,Australia or Europe as the pay is almost same and far more easier to get Permament Resident and stress free life.

You should ask your employer to email or call the embassy here in Nepal. I did that and they stamped my H-1B visa. Good luck.

@jahbles No update on my visa yet. How was your interview with the vice counsellor?
Just wondering how long this process is going to take. My husband returned to US since he was direct hire and had no problem for his visa stamping. I am thinking of applying for h4 but  since my application is pending with the embassy, am not  if I can do that.

@Kamali That's a very good news. Wish you all the best. Did they ask you questions about Employee-Employeer relationship at the interview?

@jahbles thank you but i still have doubt if they will stamp my passport in few days. Otherwise they would have asked me to collect my passport which they didn't. But, i wanna be hopeful.

Yes, the vice counsellor asked me who is the supervisor and how do I report to him. I mentioned my supervisor's name and said that I report him through emails and he visits client location bi weekly to check upon my performance. This is how they determine you employer-employee relationship.
