Dear Sajha friends,

Pranav Dhakal is our wonderful friend and it is on his behalf we are making this appeal. It is unfortunate that we could not introduce a person so cheerful, optimistic and compassionate in a better circumstance.

Throughout these many years of friendship he has endlessly won our hearts with his witty "shayaris", empathetic spirit, and has personally impressed me with his enduring optimism. His motivation to help fellow Nepalese is unequaled. There are many of us whose memories with Pranav began at the airport, where he volunteered to pick up new Nepali students with that big smile on his face.

Recently, Pranav was admitted to Overland Park Hospital in Kansas City to get treated for a rare infection. As of now, his condition is very CRITICAL. The infection has spread throughout his body including his heart, lungs, liver and kidneys. His brain has suffered a condition called "sinus thrombosis". Doctors say that it is difficult to cure this condition when only a minimal dose of antibiotics can be administered to him in order to prevent further damage to his kidneys.

We felt helpless to see a person as enthusiastic and as motivated as Pranav lying on the hospital bed fighting for his life. This is an appeal on his behalf to pray for him and for his family during this difficult time. This is also an appeal to every one of you to DONATE whatever amount you can to help him cover the medical expenses but more importantly to bring his family members here to care for him.

Pranav's health information has been UPDATED. We are getting a second update directly from his doctor later today and I will update that as soon Jaya relays the information to me.

Pranav's parents finally got their visas. They will arrive in Kansas City on Wednesday (15th March).

Very sad, My prayers and good wishes for Pranav, his family and friends. Lets hope for his quick recovery and may God give him strength to fight for his life.

Hope Pranav gets better soon.
Common guys there are many helpful Nepalese besides from Kansas.

Show your support from other states. I m sure Sajha has supportesr form other states as well.

Kansas has done a great job. This is called Unity..

So common we all should help him n others in whatever way we can.

If he has no insurance, I see impossible to maintain hospitals bill everyday. it might have cost him about 500 to over per day and upto now they have collected almost $1500 from donors.

Revival:
I do not believe there is a name for his condition, other than the generic name "infection". It is NOT a disease though; rather the doctors called it an "unlucky mishap", the kind of accident where "a plane lands on your car". And obviously this condition is very rare. The only lucky part to this is that Pranav is young (25 yo) and his body is putting up a fight against this infection that has taken over his entire body. Please keep him in your prayers.

Is there a problem with the paypal??? Everytime I try to make a donation, it says "YOUR LOGIN SESSION HAS EXPIRED". Please fix this ASAP, if it's a problem.

Bijulee dude, might you post some relevant pictures on the site as well. His nurse, doctors and you great friends, probably his parents too when they arrive. Since so many are concerend it would be nice and personal. My best wishes to all of you.

've known Pranav for almost 4 years now. I've never met a person so full of life. He is full of life, love and excitement.
Right now he is fighting for his life in a hospital in Kansas. Eventhough I cannot be with him, I know PRAYERS of mine and a lot of people who is charmed with this person is right beside him.

He's gonna make it. He's a HERO.

I do not reside in Kansas City so I am not able to go see Pranav on a regular basis. But I am visiting him this Wednesday and again on Friday. I will ask the nurse if I can take a few pictures of him. Since he is in ICU I am not quite sure if I will be allowed to do so. However, I will post pictures of his parents (when they arrive) and of the good times we shared with Pranav.

I have urged my friends to help pranab.
They will include Pranab and his family in their prayers.

Some of them do not use Paypal so i'm giving donations from my credit card through pay pal.

CAN ANY BODY TELL ME- HOW CAN I INCLUDE THE REAL DONERS NAME IN THE DONERS LIST, instead of mine?

I just received the information that Pranav's condition is exactly the same as yesterday and there has been no significant changes in any of his vital organs/signs. I will update the website when I get out of school.
