define: globalization
"the increasing integration of economies and societies around the world,
transcending the boundaries of the nation state, particularly through
international trade and the flow of capital, ideas and people, the
transfer of culture and technology, and the development of
transnational regulations."

nepali people dancing in Hindi songs, is therefore, an act of globalization!!
so feel free to laugh....but you will be laughing at your ignorance...

"Globalization nai ho bhane maile ahile samma kina koi nepali japanese, french, spanish etc music ma nacheko dekheko chaina?"

oh...question right back at you, "Why is samosa and dosa more popular in Nepal over Crepes?"
- Simple answer - India is geographically close to us and so are its culture/food, etc.

also @fanatic...
as an avid football fan, i follow football threads in Kurakani, and I do see your posts on European Football!

If you stick with your weak argument about "promoting with the brand "nepal" in it", I sincerely request you discourage European Football and create threads on nepali football to promote nepali football!

so if its the case then, can you tell me if bangladeshi, butanees, srilankans etc dancing as much as nepalese do in hindi music?
the reason why people dance to hindi music is that they understand the language quiet well....most probably better than english and english music...remind me what is the international (global) languge that most likely be understood in nepal...I am guessing its english..so why dont we dance to english music more often...may be hindi should be our official second language..are you up for it?

Why is that I was not allowed to sing a Latin song during the Dashain festival gathering, but at the same time it was OK for the lady to dance to Hindi song...Hmmmmm....double standard by Hindi lovers? Where do you set the limit?...is it like...we'll tolerate Hindi but nothing more than that?

mampakha...I conclude from your recent post that my arguments are way over your head, and hence, I won't bother wasting more time in bringing your hypothalamus back from  your scrotum to your head!!!

fanatic....I am comfortable with people dancing, talking, and oh wait( we are actually writing) in english......dance, sing in English? why not? Sure!!!

Should we make Hindi our official second language? We don't need to make "second" language....different languages can prosper at the same time in a country! Americans don't feel insecure about english when they teach their kids spanish since high school.

as regards to your first question, I would be more than happy to answer it if you are willing to answer the question, i threw back at you before you posted that question....

@ suike
see dude...we are talking about nepalese dancing in hindi music, lets just stick with this topic. Dont jump into completely different topics that holds no regards with this discussion.
anyways i will answer your question,
"Why is samosa and dosa more popular in Nepal over Crepes?"
almost 99 percent in nepal would not know what crepes is...and the taste of samosa and dosa are more similar to taste with our cultural food., that doesnot mean that samosa and dosa will overtake our dal bhat and tarkari...I dont understand what do you want to prove with this question please enlighten me.

I sincerely request you discourage European Football and create threads on nepali football to promote nepali football!
i seriously do not understand how this question is related with this topic..and i have told you earlier that i am not against hindi music..however i avoid as much as i can..if hindi music brings joy in your life then good for you..however as previous poster said "where do you draw the line"

suike, i think you like this video then, why don't we begin to teach our children hindi. C'mon you will the first one coz in future your daughter gonna dance in hindi music right. and Why don't we use hindi as primary language. Suike, I know what is globalization and you don't have to teach me what is globalization. Globalization doesn't tell us to forget your own culture and just take another culture as your own culture. I think, you should brain wash. We are not saying we must hate hindi songs, so discourage them. Infact i heard them too.But in the occasion like Nepali New year and VP taking oath, if they dance/speak in hindi, don't your heart gonna boil? If not, the i have no words to say coz you loose your nationality and i don't wanna talk to people who already lose his identity.
Because of you people, people starts to believe that Nepal is one of the state of India. I am not anti-indian. Why these people always have to interfere with our internal affair? just tell me.
Dude, NEPALESE RESPECT THE PEOPLE WHO RESPECT US.

Americans don't feel insecure about english when they teach their kids spanish since high school.
of course they dont thats why they let their kids learn spanish. now tell me were you or any other nepalese taught hindi in school? now there is a funny fact, we werent taught hindi, and yet we all know hindi quiet well..now what does that tell you? for a small country like Nepal what effect can this influence of hindi be? some of the effects have already started. so "where do you draw the line?"

fanatic,
while you wrote answers to my questions, unknowingly, you refuted yourself, and further solidified the double-standard thinking I was talking about previously!

Let me analyze them for you:

"Why is samosa and dosa more popular in Nepal over Crepes?"
almost
99 percent in nepal would not know what crepes is...and the taste of
samosa and dosa are more similar to taste with our cultural food., that
doesnot mean that samosa and dosa will overtake our dal bhat and
tarkari...I dont understand what do you want to prove with this
question please enlighten me.

- YES YES YES! Exactly my point. Let me reword the same sentence which will answer this question of yours:
"maile ahile samma kina koi nepali japanese, french, spanish etc music ma nacheko dekheko chaina?"

-almost 99 percent in Nepal would not know how to speak Japanese, French, etc. and Hindi is more similar to Nepali language, that doesn't mean that dancing in Hindi music will overtake our Music and our culture. I hope I enlightened you!

I sincerely request you discourage European Football and create threads on nepali football to promote nepali football!
i
seriously do not understand how this question is related with this
topic..and i have told you earlier that i am not against hindi
music..however i avoid as much as i can..if hindi music brings joy in
your life then good for you..however as previous poster said "where do
you draw the line"

It is related....why is it not related?
You want me to connect the dots for you? Here you go:

Just like dancing in hindi songs is "as-implied-from-your-argument" detrimental to Nepal's image in Western World, Nepali football-supporters should be more focussed on promoting Nepali football over spending sleepless nights watching Chelsea battle with Arsenal!

In the language I speak, its called Metaphor!

Now, as I promised earlier, I will answer you question:
"So if its the case then, can you tell me if bangladeshi, butanees, srilankans etc dancing as much as nepalese do in hindi music?"
-Yes Yes Yes! I have bangladeshi and srilankan friends, who listen to nothing but Kuch kuch hota hai and Kaho na pyar hai!

If you are questioning why they don't perform in hindi songs in school...how diverse is your school?
My bangladeshi, pakistani, srilankan, friends joined hands with my indian friends last diwali to organize an event, primarily dominated by Hindi Music ( because of Indian Majority of Campus), and everyone contributed something representing their own culture.

The nepali girls who danced in "gairi khetko" also danced in "aaja nachle" and the indian girls who danced in "desi girl" also danced in "mohani lagla hai" and the thats the tolerance I seek!

oh btw!
if sajha were an American site, if the word Hindi is replaced with "mexican" and the word Nepali is replaced with "American",
and if we, as a reader, were viewing that site,

we would call that american either a red-neck or a racist!

I am done with this discussion!

I am 100% on suike's side..

.It dont matter in what song you dance.  Its the matter of showing your talent.

Just an example..look at these kids..singing Nepali National Anthem and they are American.

Any performance in Hindi (dance/song) in a Nepalese cultural program or a cultural show should not happen! We have plenty of our own; we won't run out. So why the hell do we need to resort to foreign sh1t??
