I think the original people from Kathmandu should take control of the country. When I say "original" that means shrestha, pradhan, rajbhandari, joshi are not included. Shrestha's and Pradhan's came from india during Rana rule and Shrestha was pronounced "Shresta" not shrestha. They mixed up with Newars in Ktm during that period and now people think that they are also Newars. Shresthas and Pradhans are NOT NEWARS.

So who are the original people from Kathmandu ? They are Maharjan, Manandhar, Malla, Dangol, Singh, Shakya

If we start going that far to allow only the 'original' people to rule, then probably we'll find no one. Human race originated in Africa and the Kathmandu valley was first inhabitated by settlers from the North and later by those from the South. I think the poster of this thread should go to Africa and claim his original place somewhere there.

but isn't our origin from gaun as nepal is mostly rural. u and i may not be but dads, grandads etc were from gaun. so, it isn't the place of origin, it is the individual character that counts. no matter where they go, they still harbor and treasure those characters. unless they do let go these harmful attributes, we will be always cynical and skeptical.
