All those who think its not right to take away a child's right of life, would mind giving a helping hand to the mother? If you can't you dont have any right to poke nose in some one else's life and impose your pro life ideas which are curse to others. If right to life is your only concern, then why dont you devote your time to fight the rule of death with nature?

If strangers are ready to take care of someone else's unwanted children I really would have no problem standing for "pro-life".

My humble opinion is that only God has the right to play God, and not us human beings. Abortion can have several ramifications. Just some points:

1. What about partial birth abortion.
2. Stem cell research should not qualify as killing babies. The reasoning is simple. Cells are definitely not human beings, although they are indeed living beings. As for embryos, as long as they're not in the uterus, they don't qualify as "human". So I'm all for stem cell research, but not for abortion. If you don't want a baby, just wear a virginity ring, as did Jessica Simpson, my idol, and wait for that knight in shining armor to sweep you off your feet.

3. Sex might be pleasurable, but it is mired with severe ramifications. If it's only carnal desire that inspires you, then you're just a subhuman in my mind. How about emotional attachment? You can't put all your responsibilites on a backburner and pretend like they don't exist. Simply speaking, know your respnsibilities.

4. Women are not *men*. If you're promiscuous, you're a slut. If you got pregnant before marriage, you're again a slut. Learn from Jessica and Ashley Simpson.

I've read opinions saying... that women who have sex on the first date are sluts. That women who have sex with more than 5 men in thier lives are whores. At the same time there is talk about "hotties" about "getting some". Perhaps these aren't the same people, but it brings to mind the old double standard. Sow your wild oats, but marry a virgin. Oh yea whats new...nothing again.

Then again.....well, if we let nature take its course, people are going to get pregnant. In olden times, it was possible and necessary for people to be decent parents in their teenage years. Due to social change, this is NO LONGER POSSIBLE.

Furthermore, I doubt there are many teenagers who are screwing because they WANT children - they do it for pleasure, to show "love" for someone, et cetera. We, as a society, don't want them to have children either - it will damage our society.

So, given the fact that teens WILL screw, what must we do? Provide a way for them to do it without getting pregnant. In other words, provide reliable, simple ways of birth control instead of blaming them. Having a dozen kids is now not only unnecessary, but stupid and quite likely disastrous. Birth control MUST be freely available, and it must be used by teens and all others not interested in being pregnant. To that end we MUST teach teens how to use birth control, and make it freely and confidentially available. If made a big deal then well...more abortion will take place.

As to whether men are culpable for women getting pregnant, sure they are! But the point still remains that while men might be guilty as charged, men DON'T get pregnant, WOMEN do. However, let's not make this into a men vs women issue, for I never insinuated that women are only the guilty ones. It's up to the dude who impregnates the dudette to embrace her and basically POP the question. What I'm saying is that marriage is a necessity if the women with whom you had a romp-fest with has a bun in her oven. Even in America, being single and pregnant is a BIG albatross around your neck. This is a fact of life. The United States is slightly more conservative than Europe. This is of course expected as the puritans and other immigrants who came here centuries ago came here for religious freedom. But again, there is hypocrisy that I talked about in one of my previous postings.

And besides there are plenty of options to protect like condoms, pills, patch, shots implants etc...and in most cases its pretty safe.

No I didn't say you got to kill. I wanted to know what you would do in such situation. So according to what I understand, you are not for abortion but you also don't want to take the responsibility? Instead of trying to find solution for women and not even having the gut to take the responsibility as a father...I think first of all it is important to know what SHE wants. It is her right to choose what she does with her body. This right is guaranteed by the ninth amendment, which contains the right to privacy. Ofcourse she has the free will to
consider others views and opinions such as that of the father but it is still her decision.

Ermm, you're misconstruing me. All I'm saying is that if the couple cannot afford to raise the baby due to financial pressure, then perhaps adoption agency is a safe option. By no means am I saying that babies need to be sent away just because the couple don't want to take any responsibilities. This is wrong. The biological parents should always try to raise their children, if possible. And if things are really difficult, go to an adoption agency!

From what I understand, you think that it's up to a woman to decide whether she wants an abortion or not. Do you mean in all cases? Why consider an abortion if there are adoption agencies that will happily take your baby away if you want to? Abortion should be the last resort, and should be considered only if the mother's health is in danger due to pregnancy, or if she is pregnant due to rape or incest.

Nobody is saying that women love to abort, but people abort for many reasons. One being the couple want a girl, but the baby will be a boy. With today's technology, finding the fetus's sex is just a minor inconvenience. Just go to your local doc and do one of those scan thingies. Pro-choice means a lot of things. It can also mean choice to choose the sex of your baby. That doesn't sound right to me. Many people are sexist and want boys or girls only. This has to be kept in mind. These people who abort because the sex of the baby is not what they want are seriously misguided and need some serious help.

Now you tell me. In such cases, is abortion a valid choice?

So I support abortion when:
1. The woman was raped(this includes incest as well)
2. The woman will become fatally ill, and die, if an abortion is not produced
3 If the fetus is going to be born with Down's syndrome or other mental defects. It can also be physical defects as well, depending on what type of defect it is.

Getting accidentally impregnated is not a good reason to have an abortion.
There might be some other reasons when I would support abortion, but I can't think of any more right now.

Oki I have to say something here..... this is for our nepali con ji.. what if a female gets impregnated by accident and she hates the idea of having the kid (and possibly being a single mother) and she in no way can afford to have a baby.. do u think its wise to have the baby anyway?
