Hello, I have a questions regarding I-94 Card not taken at the airline check-in counter when leaving the USA for Nepal.
Has anyone had similar experience that they would like to share. The airline did not take the card, and I am not sure what I should do.

I came across this information at http://www.path2usa.com/immigration/relatedinfo/i94card.htm

What should I do if I did not turn in my I-94 (Arrival / Departure Record) when I left the U.S.?
It is common and happened in many cases that I94 is not taken out by the airline checking counter at the airport while leaving the USA. You should always check whether airline checking person should take your I94, if not ask him/her to take it.
If for some reason you find that later once you already exit the USA and you send the the original I-94 to the following address:

ACS, Inc.
1084 South Laurel Road
London, Kentucky 40744

You must include with proof of departure. Suggested proof includes the arrival stamp in one's passport and the boarding pass from the flight. Always keep the copies of any documents submitted. The authorities warns that, without proof of the departure, there is no guarantee that the information will be entered into their system. This is logical, since otherwise, people could send the documentation and claim departure on a different date.

Here's the official website: : https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/752.

Since it's the official website of US Customs and Border Protection, you should be able to rely 100% on this info.

I did not turn in my I-94 when I left the U.S., what should I do?

If you returned home with your Form I-94 (white) or Form I-94W (green) Departure Record in your passport, it is possible that your departure was not recorded properly. If you departed by a commercial air or sea carrier (airlines or cruise ships), your departure from the U.S. can be independently verified, and it is not necessary to take any further action, although holding on to your outbound (from the U.S.) boarding pass - if you still have it - can help expedite your reentry next time you come back to the United States. If you departed by land, private vessel or private plane, you will need to take steps to correct the record. If you do not validate your timely departure from the United States, or, if you cannot reasonably prove you departed within the time frame given to you when you entered, the next time you apply for admission to the U.S., Customs and Border Protection (CBP) may conclude you remained in the U.S. beyond your authorized stay. If this happens, your visa may be subject to cancellation or you may be returned immediately to your foreign point of origin.

Thanks for the info. So that means I would not have to mail the card in.
Just have to bring the boarding pass when I come back to US.

Anybody have any first hand experience?
thanks

Same thing happened to me, too. Don't worry a bit. When you come back to the US, the immigration officers will replace the old one with the new one. You will be fine.

Thanks for the information guys.
I called the International Student office of my university and got some confllicting information.
They said students dont have to surrender the I-94 when they leave the country.

I suppose its not too much to worry about.
