Dear Immigration Specialists, I hear of 4-6 years retrogression before you can file your I-485. Is this true for us Nepalis as well or this just apply for the Indians and the Chinese. You can only apply for an I-485 if a visa number is available. Visa number are allocated by country. Do Nepalis also face this regrogression? If so, does anybody know how long? Power_Ranger

I just saw my lawyer yesterday and he told me that the current waiting period for Nepal is 5 years and 8 months. That's the latest.

If the number of visas allocated is based on country why is the wait period for us the same as that for Indians and Chinese? Do you know? There aren't as many of us applying for GC as there are Indians and Chinese. Do you know by any chance the number of visas allocated for India, China and Nepal? 5 and 8 months sounds way too long.
