Hello,
I have a question regarding F1/F2 Visa. May be you guys have more ideas on it.
One of my fren came to US in F2 visa and his visa is still valid for next 4 years. Recently he got admission in grad school with full assistantship and now he needs to change the status to F1. But through USCIS it takes at least 3 months for this and by then the school will have already started. He needs to change the status before the classes starts. So, he is planning to go back to Nepal to get new Visa stamp.
Since he has assistantship, I hope he will get new F1 Visa. But if in case he doesn't get new one then is there any problem to come back to US with his old valid F2 visa?

please suggest on this issue.

Cheers,

Contact international advisor. He/she will solve that problem. I think there is no need to go to nepal for that dont have to wait untill uscis grants F1.
