New England Ping Pong Tournament Rules

Scoring:
All games will be best of 3. A player that wins 2 games wins the game. All initial games will be based on first player to win 11 points. From Semi Finals onwards, we will play for 21 points.

Flow of the match:
First to serve will be decided by coin toss.

For 11 point games, each player serves two points in a row and then switch server.
For 21 point games, each player serves 5 points in a row and then switch server.

If a score of 10-10 (in 11 points game) or 20-20 (in 21 points game) is reached in any game, then each server serves only one point and then the server is switched till one player wins by 2 points.

After each game, the players switch side of the table.

There is no "LOVE" wins.

Legal Serve:
The ball must rest on an open hand palm. Server should project the ball near vertically upwards, without imparting spin, so that it rises at least 16cm. The bat must only be in contact with the ball as it falls downwards.

During serve, the ball must be above the table height, outside of the table surface and within the side boundaries of the table.

If server misses the serve then they lose point whether their bat touches the ball or not.

Net Ball:
If the ball touches the server side table then the net or net clamp during the serve and falls on the other side of the table, then it is considered a Net ball. A player is allowed 2 consecutive Net balls. The third consecutive Net ball results on a loss of point.
