Some colleges accept CLEP and some have their own "challenge exam". If your college accepts CLEP, then you are in luck. I found CLEP exams easier than having to deal with assignments and traditional exams :-). I took CLEP for four subjects when I was doing undergrad - Sociology, psychology, world religion, and Calculus and managed to pass them in first attempt. There are tons of resources available online and there are many discussion forums for CLEP.
