Namaste

I have a question regarding the new MDMS system in Nepal. I'm going to Nepal soon and will be bringing my phone with me. I'll also be carrying extra phone (one brand new and another used phone). My first question is what's the custom rate that I need to okay for the new phone? I don't mind paying the custom charge if I have to.

Also my other question is obviously those phones IMEI aren't registered. So how can I register the IMEI? The phone that I am currently  using and the new phone that I will be bringing is carrier unlocked. I bought them unlocked. It would obviously be of no hassle if it wasn't for the MDMS. I tried to register the IMEI'S but obviously the website doesn't even load.

https://eir.nta.gov.np/individual/register

Is it not loading because I am trying to access it from outside Nepal? If I cannot register it online, what's my next option? Also do I need to bring receipts for the phones?

I'd really appreciate if you could share any Information that you have regarding this.

Thank you

Used mobile is free registration at airport . New one you have to pay 4% tax and 13 % so altogether 17% tax on invoice .

Thank you. Also how do they know if the phone is "used one".

Also so I need the invoice ready so that I can show them how much I paid for it right?

One phone is always considered as used phone the next phone is new for custom purpose , its upto you which one you declare new . Its good to have invoice ready otherwise they have log book for custom purpose . They will charge custom depending on their book which is slightly higher thn your invoice . If you undervalue your invoice they will charge 25 % penalty . So better to have a genuine invoice to avoid hassle .
