I am a Phd Student just started this August. I got married on June and
my wife applied for F-2 dependent visa. I have graduate assistantship
and some bank balance which is way more than my annual expenses shown
in my I-20. While interviewing, the consular said  that My wife cant
use my money and she denied visa. As far as I know none get money for
spouse from the university.

One thing I did not do was we did not show any money from Nepal. Since
My financial condition was good, I thought it was not necessary. But
this time my University issued a new I-20 with enough money for both of
us (It is more than my all expenses for a year and $4000 needed for
her). I even dont need to show my bank statement. How ever I have send
my bank satement for the interview purpose. DO I HAVE TO SHOW MONEY IN
MY WIFE'S ACCOUNT TOO? HOW ABOUT THE PROPERTY VALUATION. Can anyone
suggest me what to do in such case?

Waiting for your response

Thanks

Hey man! my wife got visas in fourth attempt. You don't need to be worried.Nod need to show your property evaluation. You can show some money in Nepal so that she can expense that amount for ticket or stuff like that but don't show much. The main point is I-20 and the way you fill up the forms issued by consulate. These two things they take care very thoroughly.Damn care about your property in Nepal and your money deposited in your account these carry no significance as long as you have sufficient fund from the school. You can show bank statement from any US banks, couple of thousands don't need to show more amount!Take your original relationship paper with you and your family with photo issued by government of Nepal along with your translation.Marriage photo sometimes they ask sometimes they don't, it is not important but you can take for your satisfaction. If you need more help email me later.don't ask with too many people they will make you made and every person give you every new points which may  not have significance.
Thanks
