Do you guys watch Mad Money?  Do you give credence to his stock prognostications?

I do watch Jim Cramer's show when I get a chance but I do my homework as well.  Also, he is my neighbor, not that it matters.  He probably is good with fundamentals but I like to see if the charts match what he says before considering his booyahs.

What do you think?

Since his Lehman flop I don't watch the show too much. Use his show as an input, not a deciding factor, and you will be just fine.

I thought he was trying to protect people by telling them to sell everything and avoid the free fall of 2008.  Wasn't he ranting like raving lunatic in one of the shows with Erin Burnett?  "They know nothing, nothing!"

Well, as for me, I have made a decent money based on his advice on stocks such as AAPL, HON, EOG, NUE, etc.

Guys,
there was a study done about cramer's picks and it was published on Barrons few years back. As far as i remember from that, his picks don't fare better for 4-6 weeks but in longer terms they do better. Researchers had a reason for short-term underperformance as people might use cramer's pitch as selling opportunity.

My opinion is: it depends on where the market is at.   For example, most of his picks during the may of last year wouldnot have fare better all year and the picks he is making in last few months must be doing lot better. Rather try to see what fundamental reasons are behind his picks and figure out if it makes sense to jump on them with technicals.
