Can all of us vow to build the university in NEPAL as we are in USA, the most developed country in the world.
Well, wish I was one of the guy from Australia to be the part of such adorable deeds.
Lots of respect for those Nepalese from Australia

I wonder why is it shame for us.

If you are so ashamed of urself please go ahead and donate every penny you have.

But please do not stereotype Nepalese in US.Donations and charities are not the only way to contribute to the society.

Everyone has their own way of making their contribution to the society and when time comes you will automatically do it.

Of course it won't show up in new paper like this. But than again when ur making charity you don't wana tell the whole world that u did it.Do you? After all charity is a selfless deed and why do u want a fame outta it.

What's the use of media? To highlight only the freaking news of corrupt and senseless politician?
News on good deeds, no doubt encourages one to be active on such work.

What's your yearly income, between 75 K to 100 K?
what's the income of an average Nepali?
Perhaps, one can't even make 50 K working for the whole life.
Youth living in Nepal!are  they economically stable to build a school?  You know the answer
What about us, the youth making more than 75K in a year?  You know the answer

If the nepalese from Australia would have thought like you then the story would have been different.

I am not asking to donate all the grands(not penny) we earn. I am asking to donate pennies part fro the grands we earn for bettern work.
We, guys living in USA are not able to do it yet though the guys from Australia have already done it.
Think, if it's the matter of shame or not.

We pay taxes if we earn money. Here in US and when we send money back home there too.Don't you think those money are supposed to go for building school and hospitals .Government is supposed to do it and if they are not doing it why pay taxes

Anyways if you and i everyone started doing the job what government is supposed to do,who will do our job and why do we pay for the government.
of course the guy did a good job.But that does not make us bad either. We all are working hard on our own domain and we are contributing in our own way.He could afford(in terms of money and time) to go back home and build a school and we cannot afford to do that.

May be tomorrow you (from USA ) build a hospital if it is feasible for you and people from australia hail you on doing it.
Having said that everyone cannot be saint. They have their own set of responsibilities no matter how much they earn.

Funny thing is i have seen some people doing charity to get into politics and his own relatives r deprived of formal education.

So because a few Nepalese living down under donated money to open a school in some rural village, it brings shame to Nepalese living in the states? What about charities funded/sponsored and run by Nepalese living in the states? Do they bring shame to Nepalese in other parts of the world? What's this? A dick measuring contest?

sojoketo,
you might not be aware of the fact that there are couple of associations (upto my knowledge; there might be even more which i don't know) that collect donations by doing various things and send money to nepal.  I am not a volunteer for that but i have donated. One of those associations was spread around the world (eg some volunteers in US, some in UK and some in Australia). The money donated have been used in the building the schools in the rurals areas of Nepal.
Talking about the media, they don't mention about couple of thousand of dollar donated to education which is fine. They have lot of other things to talk about about. So I believe there is nothing left to be shamed about.

Is it better to donate 100,000 to 20 people or open a business of 100,000 that can give  job to 20 people?

I try to follow good things from all religions, my charity work is based on this bible verse.
.

Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. (Matthew 6:1-4)

So some guys in Australia built school in Nepal , you want Nepalese in America want to build University? I am sorry to say that your ego is playing a big part here. It would be better if you had asked, see these guys have built school can we do something similar? You dont want Nepalese in other countries do good things becasue this is hurting your ego. I guess you think America is the only developed  country in the world  and only people in america have money or heart. You are asking something like this, see studnets from country like Australia built school, we must build University ,we are from USA  the most developed country in the world.

There are other countries  and Nepalese live in almost all countries in the world now. I have met Nepalese earning more in Lagos(Nigeria) and Angola than in USA.That too in senior position. But hey wE are in USA , the most developed country in World.Angola and Nigeria  sucks right?

Talking about Australia, that guy Shesh Ghale has recently invested( he just got approval) for 80 Million dollar 5 star hotel. Should we go ahead and build 6 start hotel at minimum cost of 81 million .I heard there is anothey guy in AUS who will surprise everyone with 3 digits million,  and what about the guy who got Queenlsland Railway contrat at double digit million.Let me tell you one thing we can never catch those living Nepalese. There are hundreds already with  million dollar asset(Mainly because of property) one with 26 houses. I hardly see that here in USA.

So lets just live in a bubble and think we live in most develop country. Ohhh What a feeling , I live in USA.
