This thread is dedicated to video prose. I found a couple of pieces (on YouTube) that were unique, provocative, intellectual, funny, witty, philosophical(?), or whatever makes you go 'shit, that was good.'

Anyone who wants to put up a short video, feel free to do so. Now, please refrain from posting music videos, teenage pranks, hour-long college lectures, or porn for that matter. I am sure those all might be provocative or funny but not a place for this thread. If enough people participate, we could start on a discussion about the videos as well.

The following video called Laid Off is a man's sardonic view on life after death. It uses elements of dark comedy and a fantastic Scottish accent to make you think that real life might not be that bad after all. Enjoy!

So, does that "Dead person" has to be mentally stable before he/she can go to heaven?? I am just saying this because he had to go to a counselor. It's like you get stuck where you are if you have an unfinished business only in this case you get stuck in the earth if they don't think you are stable enough to be up there?? !! It was an interesting movie and it was beautifully made.. Thanks FF for sharing!! I hope you post more!!

jash..

Jash,
See I don't understand how they judge who gets to go 'up.' One thought I have is that is it not black and white as we think it would be. He brings the issue about fairness. Just like in life, nothing is always fair, even after death. So much for the whole idea of being judged on how you live your life and going to heaven/hell after you die. And the counselor seem more human than anything else. Note that the counselor keeps asking what kind of car it was.

Getting back to your question, he says 'I have been dead for 3 and a half years. There is no timescale about this. Different for everybody you know. Some people move on..'

Yes, it does seem that they want you to get over your death and the whole grieving process before you are sent up. And it's like he is waiting for that opportunity. An analogy in life would be that job offer, or a promotion. Then that annoying guy who sits in the cubicle and has more energy than red-bull is given the thumbs up. So when the other kid  gets to go, he mentions 'Can't believe that Mike, such a wanker. If people like him are gonna go up there, may be I don't wanna go. May be I don't want to go.'
May be heaven is full of zealous assholes. Anyways,  at the end he is asking the same question we all are. 'Why am I still here?'  Is our existence meaningless even after death? Who knows.

Lastly, Thank you for commenting and I will put more short movies very soon.

Here is another short movie. The title is called the Black Button. I do not want to ruin the plot but must say that it got me thinking. Would you press the button? I said yes.

The following short movie was nominated for the Academy Award in 1999. The title of the clip is MORE and it speaks a lot. In fact the whole movie is lacking of speech, and there a certain beauty to it, and thus I have decided to put it on this thread.

The topic of the movie is definitely something an inventor/artist can relate to. There are so many metaphors to this clip and that's the beauty of it. This is what I got out of the clip: The mind is a sweet thing and we can envision and create, but let us not get destroyed by what we have created. It seems the desire to want more not only propels prosperity but that desire comes at a greater cost than we imagine. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the clip.

P.S. I know this thread should be actually titled 'short movies' than video prose. I guess I am leaning towards that now. But as long as it is thoughtful, please don't hesitate to post it.

trollkale  here's a tip. You see we have a rating system in sajha if 20 plus users give it a 1 star then it automatically gets deleted..why don't you try doing that? Be the first, others( "sensitive report Nazis" like Hitler was talking about above) will follow!
that's a GuaranSHEEED!
