Hi guys, I need some suggestions. I have my parents coming over for 1.5 months from Nepal. Do you guys suggest purchasing a temporary health insurance? If something were to happen, is  the coverage good? What are the prices and where can i purchase. Thank  you for your help

I had posted a similar scenario last year and based on advice here and my own research, I really don't think buying the health insurance for parents is worth it. I was advised that for unexpected but minor illness, its better to take them to a community hospital. For major illness or surgery (I hope that will not be the case) those health insurance barely cover anything. However, know your priorities and do some research on your own and see if you come to similar conclusions! Best

thank you for your advice. But i would think there are insurances depending on coverage. Just to be in safe side as we may do some travelling. are they expensive if i decide to get one? Where do i look?

In most cases, god forbid, if you parents were to get sick or w/e, the hospitals will waive the fees if you were to cite poor income/lack of sufficient funds as the reason.

I'd look into getting it from back insurance companies in Kathmandu as well...
