rpanday, paadequen1, isolatedfreak, aarav, hangoolama, Newuser, iamnepali ,gharjwaii ,freedomofdogma ,jaynepal ,kalekrisna ,susant sharma, wheel, captain crash, confused, bionepal, usofa, mailadai, kg4mvp, nepalicnn, arryan, nepalipaakhe, suvachintak, nitu, bond 007, zil, indisguise, ruina, lonelyinmidwest, babajee, no way, prem dai, kuiyeko aalu, naxas, and so many of the readers? thank you very much for ur effort for writing and a healthy discussion.. Isn?t it high time now to show unity and solidarity ? Most of the ppl now reading this thread are from abroad and some from ktm I know we are lacking the large number of ppl from remote side of Nepal in the discussion forum. I just read a news.. Finnish donate Rs 500 every year to Nepal.. and this clicks my head. Why can?t we send a letter and at least a dollar to support the king fighting against terrorism. If we can buy 25 dollar tshirt to show our support to American troops or firfighters, cant we do it for our own nation??? Despite being criticized by all around the world.. I think the support of Nepalese from abroad will definitely boost up him and encourage him to work smoothly and being motivated and determined on his mission to bring peace and prosperity back. I am not involved in politics and I am an ordinary Nepalese. Sending at least a dollar from Nepalese living abroad is just an idea. I am cautious now if anybody thinking I am seeking opportunity to ingulp some dollars then you are wrong. Its just a thought. And I hope this thread will get ur attention for a healthy discussion for supporting king or making him cautious or wishing him for the completion of the mission he intended to do. Most of the countries have not shown the green light to king?s action that?s why I think support from Nepalese is a lot more valuable for king. We want to see peaceful and prosperous Nepal. Not to forget when king Birendra proposed Nepal as Peaceful country like Switzerland then we got support from a lot of countries around the world.. and King Birendra?s mission was remain incomplete when India (so called our gret fren) disapproved the proposal. I don?t know if I am thinking to much or asking you to think too much? but just want to know ur thoughts.. What you all think is there anyway we can organize a committee to collect ur letters to king .. ur suggestion or comment or ur donation .. that the committee will mail it to king. Or even without a committee.. is there anyway we can send those things directly to the king??? Even a bunch of Nepalese?s support to the king will be more than the support our country seeking from India or USA or Britain. I think this is our last hope.. and the king is the ray of light light.. of our hope. Let him grow and work for our nation. Lets show our unity and solidarity. And think about how we can contribute to nation when our nation needs us and our support.

yeah nepali needs support from nepali living all around the world. and, every penny counts. But our king doesnot need money from us he had more than enough and now he has an exponential amount of money ( he owns birendra's property too). it would be a better idea to send money to the human right activist who are in real need of money.

Meteors! what about sending some money to the school suffering from maoist's rage. Despite that i agree showing unity and support from nepali living outside the nation to the king's mission to restore peace.

Good Idea. Yes Nepal need help but not the human right groups as they are funded by international doners as well as by parties. We could help schools and health posts that are affected by the insurgency and also contribute in various other development activities which are directly linked to the livelihood of the prople.

I am all for supporting the nepali government at this hour but I don't think we will be doing any good by directly sending $$ to the king. As mentioned above, he already has plenty. What everyone should do is contribute something in your gau / tol / city / village in building the infrastructures such as schools, bridges, libraries and what not. Or to the least, adopt a poor kid and pay for his education until he finishes 12 (this probably is the best).

Good point!!!! We have to support KINg's move to restore democracy eventhough we need to wait for three years...I am sure King will yield good result... We should always help our motherland in difficult time..and I don't see a better time than this one...our contrbution should not be taken in terms of monetary, but solidarity.. I still remember that when India tested its nuclear bomb in the late 90's, and western countries imposed an economic blocade to india....but its NRI came forward and offered indian government a tremendous amount of monetary contribution...This move by NRI made indian government feel that they should heed to NRI snetiments also..That's why indian government nowadays regard these NRI with high esteem.... Now it's our time to show off..even if international countries oppose to the present move (hope, they won't) , we should stand together with king and show our solidarity..... what do you think???

Dear Friends and Meteors, How about we collectively write a letter and have it signed by as many Nepalis as possible and then send it to King G to show our support and gratitude for stepping in to save our nation from such a miserable crisis that we are in right now. Wouldn?t it be nice to have at least one thousand(may be this is a lot!) signatures supporting the King G, after all he deserves to know that his people abroad are also with him. I know lots of Nepali organizations in the USA have opposed his move. Their opposition to our King is making me sad. Because they must be politically influenced because most Nepalis I know, like you and I are hopeful and glad that the King has stepped in this urgent situation. So please brainstorm as to how we can submit our collective voice to the King together. We all realize that because of the King we have finally started to dream about future for Nepal and Nepalis all around the world again. I do not know whether he will be able to resolve the Maoist problem or not. But, the King?s new step has allowed many Nepalis a chance to be hopeful and optimistic again. And he must know how we each feel. Therefore, I am expecting your support in writing and forwarding the letter?or any other ideas? I will make sure King G will receive our supportive letter in his own hands. Please join me in supporting our King and our country. Let?s let him know he has his people standing by him and we appreciate his feelings for us and our country. I look forward to hearing some of your good thoughts in this matter~~!

Ajsab01 I definately have no such problem even if Ganendra does whatever he wants because for a very simple reason. His reach doesnt extend anywhere beyond major cities and towns. Practically, it's a State of Emergency in cities and towns only. Isnt it ?

If the dramatic changes we are experiencing in the valley because of historic Feb1 proclaimation is indeed true, honest and can become long lasting, the days are not far when rest of the country start to follow suit! What do you think? Revival

Thanx for ur comments... infact personally i liked the idea of at least showing our support and our concern about the country as a nepali. Maybe a lot of us are not in condition to support moneterily which is not mandatory either.. jasle sakcha usle garda ramro ho. I really like the example of NRI by RubiesDiamonds.. Collecting signature from nepalies living outside the country to support king can provide him an extra motivation and determination. Is there anyway we can mail our signatured paper.. that somebody will collect it and send it to king? RubiesDiamond! i really appreciate ur enthusiastic response. What you all think about it??? Please lets not bring politics here. I can trust you RubiesDiamond, and ready to mail my signatured letter in support of king. Its an appeal to everyone... Please read RubiesDiamond's comment and lets think what should we have to do to collect the letters at one spot.. so tha it could be handed over to the king safely. ajsab01! i appreciate u urging " We should always help our motherland in difficult time..and I don't see a better time than this one...our contrbution should not be taken in terms of monetary, but solidarity.. " Can not we do some kind of signature campaign at least for the collection of letters... i know it will be difficult to gather letter all around the world here in america but lets give a start. At least we can try to collect it from Nepalies living in usa... but my point is not to limit it to usa.. But for the sake of giving a start lets do it from usa. THIS IS A TIME FOR SERIOUS CONTRIBUTION TO THE COUNTRY AND WE NEED READERS LIKE YOU WHO CAN GIVE SUGGESTION OR PRECAUTIONS OR COMMENTS ON WHAT TO DO AND HOW TO DO SO THAT WE FEEL PROUD THAT EVEN WITHOUT BEING INVOLVED IN POLITICAL PARTY WE DID SOMETHING FOR THE NATION WHEN IT WAS NECESSARY IN THE NAME OF BEING NEPALI. ITS A TIME TO DO SOMETHING FOR NATION AND SET AN EXAMPLE AND GOOD TRADITION FOR OUR CLANS IN FUTURE TO FOLLOW. thank you very much for ur time to read it.

frens! I really like the idea of helping our motherland with whatever we can. I totally agree with with babajee, bionepal, klpd and others about helping schools, health post affected by this insurgency. Especially in this time of crisis, we have to show some support to our country. Regardless of difference in some of our views and thoughts, our common desire is PEACE in Nepal. Lets get together and take this step. I am with you all. love Nepal!
