Wow, Sndy -- You resemble Ash so well .... ;-) Lucky you. But I do hope your hubby does not resemble Abhishek Bachchan but rather is like Salman Khan! :-) Someone once told me I look like the actress of yesteryears -- Ranjita -- who played in Laila Majnu with Rishi Kapoor. :-P Took that as a compliment, what to do? I don't know why we humans have a tendency to liken each other or oneself to some celebrity ...Does it help in self-esteem, I wonder.

Yes, nice to 'see' you too, sndy. As always. I have been good - a tad buy with my social commitments lately. That's all. No sajha surfing for me, mind you! Hope all is well with you... So, it's Shivaratri today then! Is your Shiva ji behaving well tonight? No bhaang chutneys?? :-) Take care Carpe diem

President Day greetings to fellow "Nautankis" and Sajhaites in the US :) :P Commandant Lahure - Hope you are having a swell once across the pond. Lucky you man - being busy with social stuff isn't a bad way to be busy,no? :) I'll take it any day over the stuff I am busy with -- LOL! I think I need a vacation pretty soon :P ha hah Simple Gal/Brigadier Ma'm - All this talk about Bollywood stardom is making mere mortals like me feel inadequately endowed by the creator:P They need to revise the US constitution - it doesn't seem all men/women are created equal after all! :P ha ha ha Brigadier Ma'm - Hope you had a good weekend - do you have President's day off? Btw, did you get to watch Eklavya - I couldn't make it but watched Kabul Express on DVD. Capt Sparrow, Hi Nanu, Bahunkto - Good morning :)

Brigadier Ma'm (that's settled then - since you like it :P) - I am in the office today - are you in the office or working from home? Momos? Pani ayo! LOL. Love the dish - can never get tired of it ..he he. As for Kabul Express,I must warn you before hand that I am a bit of a merciless movie critic. Die hard Bollywood fans have taken offense to my opinion before but I do my best to be as objective as I can :) That said, and since you asked, I'd say all in all it was a one-star at most. The plot was about 2 indian TV crew out to interview a Taliban after the regime fell in Afganistan. The plot had the potential for a great movie but the director could not do it justice. Like a lot of Bollywood, the director assumes you are a complete idiot and don't know jack about what is going on in Afganistan. I thought the the character played by Arshad Warsi as a bungling, unpolished, unsophisticated photographer was totally unnecessary. It appears the character that Warsi plays was either created to provide comic relief in a story with a nail-biting plot or it was created as a foil to the role played by John Abraham (the reporter) to show Abraham in a better light. To me the only purpose it served was to annoy the audience. Although I suppose in the mohallas and gallis of India there might be some people who would find that characterization appealing and Mr Chopra might have been keeping these folks in mind. Unlike some of his other movies where he appeals to the family crowd, it seems he is trying to appeal to multiple types of audiences but in the process getting to no one. Sorry if that is a bit harsh but that is my honest opinion. Also the characterization of the American journalist is totally over the top and un-real. Mr Chopra cant seem to tell a college-educated journalist working on a book from a total bimbo ( I doubt any journalist anywhere in the world - man or woman - can be that stupid as the one he portrays) In my opinion, Yash Chopra should stick to his regular themes of love-wove Indian-style and not try to explore serious themes without first learning how to cast and characterize challenging roles. He is much better at casting young lovers, their parents and grandparents than Taleban fighters and journalists. Rant over! :) Blood pressure down. Out of my system :) he he ... Hope you don't regret you asked - the last thing I want to do is annoy you :P
