This is good news; however,

If the poster above (rsubedi) is the same person who collected the news piece for Radio Dovan (Ramhari Subedi), please be advised that appropriate mention of the source is needed when copying-n-pasting news from other sources.

The piece in Radio Dovan's website is an EXACT copy of the news clip from Times of India's November 30th edition.

Poonte

Good Point.

All of the news pieces say
" News Collection By Ramhari Subedi". However, it does not say by Ramhari Subedi.

may be he is not a journalist.

Thats how it goes. As long as you inform people with good news. Who cares about finding this and that. Just read the news and know.

Mr. Subedi,

There are ceratin laws while dissementing news that needs to be followed. I agree with above 2 gentlemen over this. There should not be any copyright violations.

My 2 cents

Peace out

Dude,

If you look some news you can see the exact same things over and over with different medias and sources. You got to look those things before you discuss/argue here. We dont get paid by posting the news. This is just a volunteer service utilizating spare time You can not put tooo much efforts being as a volunteer.

Ram Hari ji

I think you should take Anil's point as an eye opener to you on Journalistic Ethics and not confront the way you just did.

Not getting paid does not mean that you take the credit on some body else's work.

Sirish ji,

I completely understand. Have you ever noticed what Kantipur does? They do copy and paste from the different resources, I have seen this many many times. By profession I am not a journalist means I can not write any news and post, I am just trying to post the news out there for people who do not know yet.

Sirish Ji,

We all have Nepali Para, whatever you do, wherever you go. The way I look at it, was an unrelevent complain. Sometimes people do not know what they are getting out of it but they want to find out where they can find the mistake, only mistake.

r subedi

At least you conceded that it was a mistake. You could have simply said, OK guys I goofed and the matter would have died. Instead you chose to retaliate in a bad way.

What you did is simply an act of 'plagiarism' !

Ram hari Jee,
but some times it can also keep you out of trouble
Yes some of these posters went little further.
But why don't you accept it?
They are not saying something that is wrong.
I know you brought the news here..thats good.
But you never know what happens in the name of laws.
I think they were just trying to be nice to you.

Ramhari-jee,

You have erred. Bravely acknowledge the fault and move on with a determination not to err again, you have not. Instead, you try to justify your error in whatever silly ways you can, which only make you look sillier.

Please understand the concept of "constructive criticism" if you'd like to have professionalism reflected on your work, be it volunteer-based or otherwise. Simply adding a line "The following news is from TOI...(and providing the link)" would have sufficed to avoid criticism. This would not have taken more than 10 seconds of your volunteer time.

Being open to constructive criticism and the possessing the ability to accomodate improvements -- rather than justifying your mistakes at any cost -- would only do good towards upholding your and your organization's (Radio Dovan) professionalism and integrity.

Other than that, yes, I do commend your efforts to diseminate news.

I don't see what kind of "benefit" rsubedi gets from printing news as his own on his website. He seem genuinly wanting to give news to people. I don't think anyone is doubting that these news may be of his own writing. We Nepali have tendency of talking bad about someone when he/she tries to do something new. We ourself can't even think of doing so ourselves... Nepal ani kina bikash hunchha.

Here comes another wisecrack. People are just trying to point out legal implications. Thats it. We all are Nepalis. When the things are not legal, how come there is the issue of thats the Nepalis tendency. So get this clear Mr/Ms whoareyou.

peace out

Highfly,

Now you are showing up your attitude here. You also do need to notice on any internet sites, lots of people copywriting datas, news, views and posting on other places. Before you talk, you shold do some more research first. Keep on thing on mind that Internet service is wide open service and people do try to get benifits out of it. You have to know all these things before you discuss on any of these issues.

Ok here is the thing, I really hate (this is the strong word, I know) when people blames Nepalis as a whole.

I really mean it when I say you are doing a good job. But there are some legal implications as your website is based on US. Trust me on that. Thats what I was pointing out. Others Anil and Shirsih mentioned about journalistic ethics.

I do not think I raised any illegitimate issues. Nope.

personally, I really do not accept when people just blame Nepalis culture and attitude for every thing thats going wrong.

"We Nepali have tendency of talking bad about someone when he/she tries to do something new. We ourself can't even think of doing so ourselves... Nepal ani kina bikash hunchha. " whoareyou

Look at this statement. As a Nepali, its over me too. So, do not generalize. My comment was solely for whoareyou and not to your team and what your team is doing.

peace out
