Apart from this whole bullshit pseudo intellectual debate going about Hinduism in the below thread, the main point is that Nepal will always be a Hindu Nation.

We will not let manipulative opportunists like Prachanda establish their own communistic religion based on their own faith:

Bathroom Coffee,

Thank you for your kind words and compliments. And why, Sir, are you so convinced that moving against religion is going forward and moving towards religion is backward?

Why such fanatical bias against religion?

Sonoma!
"Why dont we change our country name from Nepal to "Hindustan". That sounds better for Hindu nation, right"

You really got me on that one.

Homeyji!

Are you conspiring to enable the Brahmans and Chhetris to enslave the Viashyas, Sudras and the rest of the Non-Hindu Nepalese for a few more Millenniums again?
If 'Yes', what have you been smoking?

Namaskar Folks.

According to Srimad-Bhagavatam and Bhagavad-gita, anyone, including so-called low born men,
who may take shelter unto the Lotus Feet of Lord Krishna or His devotees, is sanctified by initiation process.

Here's a list of so-called low born men and addicted to sinful acts.
 kirata-hunandhra-pulinda-pulkasa
abhira-sumbha yavanah khasadayah
ye 'nye ca papa yad-apasrayasrayah
sudhyanti tasmai prabhavisnave namah
upon translation is;

Kirata, Huna, Andhra, Pulinda, Pulkasa, Abhira, Sumbha, Yavana, members of the Khasa races
and even others addicted to sinful acts can be purified by taking shelter of the devotees of the
Lord, due to His being the supreme power. I beg to offer my respectful obeisances unto Him.
(Srimad-Bhagavatam 2.4.18)

In the purport of this verse Srila Prabhupada describes the Pulindas as the Greeks, from whom Western civilization has descended, and the Hunas as the Europeans, who later inherited the Greek legacy. The Khasas are the Chinese, or Far-Eastern peoples. The Kiratas are described in the
purport as aboriginal peoples from the Kirata province of "old Bharata-varsa." However, it should
be noted that Bharata-varsa is the ancient India and comprised of Nepal also. In another place Srila Prabhupada describes Kiratas as synonymous with Nisadas, residents of present-day Africa:

Now you tell me what is wrong with these??
Maybe Shiv Sena Nepal and Homeyji can at least tell me why kirata-hunandhra-pulinda-pulkasa became to be called low born men and sinful??

And it said that any of these sinful, low born man can take shelter unto the Lotus Feet of Lord Krishna!!
How is this possible when Kiratas Lord is Lord of the Lord who is none other than Siva Kirateswor?

That's why Vedic Hinduism is full of crap! It tried to twist and turn so many facts and distort the truth and rewrite the mythology that they didn't see it coming that the very truth they twisted will come and slap their own face.

Homeji,

I am not a fan of any organized religion(religion gets corrupted when money gets involed in it). I am an atheist to a certain extent. I am a strong believer of keeping religion out of governance. The Government of Nepal belongs to EVERY NEPALI PERSON whereas religion(based upon which) only belongs to a certain group of people. So to include every Nepali in the Governance of Nepal we need to seperate the Government from Religion.

Nepal was not bad when it was Hindu Nation. Constitutionally, everybody had right to practice their religion. "Hindu" term was just a kind of cosmetic treatment or consolation to the majority of people. However, if you are not hindu then it is obvious that you would not feel good about it. But today, it is secular constitutionally, what that means that we are put in a situation now hard liners /fundamentalists group from diff religions are trying to destabilize/divide the society for political reasons and fullfil their evil desires. Now, we will see more organized protests/support in favor or against of religious groups. No good for the country!

Bathroom Coffee,

It is not just religion that gets corrupted when money is involved. Believe it or not, but even politics gets corrupted when money is involved. In fact, what does not get corrupted when money is involved? Even families dissolve because of money.

Hinduism is an identity, just like being Nepali is an identity. Your surname is also an identity. It does not limit you. But it gives you a sense of where you came from and who you are. I see nothing wrong with any of these things.
No one is complaining about being born a Nepali or having the surname that they have. Why is being born a Nepali Buddhist-Hindu a problem?

Are you suggesting that we should choose our Nation and our surname at birth too?

Homeji you just answered your own question. KNOWING THE FACT THAT MONEY CORRUPTS RELIGION, WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO TIE THAT CORRUPTED RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATION TO GOVERNMENT ?  I mean the government is already corrupted as it is, you want to tie religion into it and sink it even further ?  Talk about common sense.

Hinduism is an identity ? By saying that you are already saying fug the rest of the religious communities of Nepal.  What about the Buddhists ? Or the Christians ? OR the Muslims ? I DO NOT THINK THESE COMMUNITIES WOULD SHARE YOUR SENTIMENT.

When ppl ask you where are you from...what the fug do you say ? I AM FROM NEPAL. END OF THE FUGGING STORY.

Money corrupts everything. Tell me one thing that money doesn't corrupt?
You are not tied down to your identity as a Nepali just like you are not tied down to your identity as a Hindu. You can even change your surname. What's the problem?

See, the biggest illusion that people around the world have is that in America, religion is seperate from government. You see, Thomas Jefferson and the other founding fathers in America were very much influenced by communist religion--the belief in equality. His brilliance was in shaping the United States around his religion of equality, and then saying that no other religion could come between his religion and the state. Then, like a prophet, he stated his belief so that it would be everyone else's belief also, "We hold it self-evident that all men are created to be equal....blah blah blah." What he really wanted was that no other religion would come in between his religion of Equality and the State.
The entire United States is created with the seed of communism in its heart.

The whole United States is made on a premise that is a joke:
http://www.facebook.com/ext/share.php?sid=74774986341&h=TDxJM&u=0f30n

The fact of the matter, as we have seen recently in Nepal, the religion & belief in equality is what leads to violence:
http://www.facebook.com/ext/share.php?sid=82222151509&h=q3F1F&u=Tz5nQ

The whole point is that politics by definition is one person trying to impose their standards on another person.
Some people may justify the imposition of their standards by couching it intellectual language. Other people may justify the imposition of their standards by couching it in emotional language. Another person may impose their standard on another because of a religious belief. Someone else may impose their standard on you by posing it as a inspiring dream. But the point is, politics, by definition, is where one individual is imposing their standards on others.
That is the way that politics is. To think politics is anything else is to be in dellusion.

What's your solution?

My solution is simple--> Keep Religion Out of Politics and Governing Nepal. That way ppl don't get an excuse to build religious army like Shiv Sena and start threaten ppl, extort money to support their so called army. At the same time make sure that ppl who are not Hindu feel that they are not excluded in decision making process of Governing Nepal. WE NEED TO PUT NEPAL AND NEPALI FIRST BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE, IF WE ARE TO PROGRESS AS NATION.  THE REST IS JUST HINDERENCE.

Kanchu "Nepal was not bad when it was Hindu Nation."
Dalits/untouchable/sudras could not even enter the hindu temple.....dah!!!
why???

Hinduism is a stolen Religion from kirata-hunandhra-pulinda-pulkasa-sabara-naga-huna-saka and converted into Vedic Hinduism and mythology rewritten which has been proven by many scholars.

Homeyji i don't mind renaming Nepal into Islamic Republic of Nepal. What is the problem with you?

Nepal is and always have been a Hindu Nation. It just that the influence of vedic hindu from India has corrupted the true Origin Hindu belief and practices in Nepal.
Hinduism was already in existence long before vedic hindusim was written.

Few months ago i read that Indian priest was booted out of pashupathinath temple in Nepal.
Now this was a shocking revelation to me that our most revered deity has been under the guardianship of a foreigner for a long time! An outsider accumulates all the wealth offered in cash and valuable kind and sends it off to his country. This must be unacceptable to everybody – religious or atheist, Hindu or non-Hindu.
This is one example of Vedic Hinduism influence in Nepal that has hinder our nation towards progress.
I understand that dalits, sudras who are so called untouchable are not allowed to enter the Hindu temples in vedic Hinduism.
Now that will not happen if we practice Kirat Hinduism.

Therefore we should be glad that Indian priest are booted out of our sacred temples. This is one good thing done by our present government.
Hence if Nepal is to follow Kirat Hinduism, it will bring back the glory of the caste less Nepal again.
It has been proven by the scholars that during the rule of 7th Kirat King Jitedasti, Lord Gautam Buddha had visited the valley with his several disciples. Under Jitedashi rule, Buddhism flourished though Kirats practiced Saivite Hinduism and Mundhum.

Therefore Nepal will only continue to be Hindu Nation if other religions are also embraced.
Homeyji hence this will answer to your call that Nepal will continue to exist as Hindu nation.

Look at the names of the scholars and tell me Shantipriya
if you can find Kirats among them. What makes you think i am kirat hos wa rai/mongol hos??
And remember Shantipriya or any one who doubt the scholars. Scholars are not politicians nor are they link to any religious association. Their common purpose is to serve the human race with the Truth.

Don't be a religion hater. Be positive. Who programmed you to be brainwashed to have such unfounded negativity towards religion?

Equality is as much a religion as Hinduism. You're not hating on equality are you? Because right now, the religion of equality has caused way more violence and chaos in Nepal than Hindu Nepal experienced.
Nepal has been made a mockery because all the INGOs in Kathmandu padding up their own careers and resumes by turning Tharus against Muslims, Muslims against women, in the name of equality etc. We can't let out country be destroyed because a bunch of career "international social workers" need to put the right credentials on their resume. They don't care about Nepal. After they are done with their 2 year term, they will fly to Zimbabwe, Botswana or which ever international NGO job where they are earning in plush dollars.

I don't know if you heard, but the Muslims want a fund so that they can travel to Haj every year (Haj or Mecca is most holy place for Muslims). I suppose the Tharus will want a buffalo fund. And all the ugly women will want a face-lift 'botox' fund. This is getting ridiculous.

So you know what? I was happy with Nepal when it was Hindu, because there was atleast some sanity in my Nepal. What we have now is chaos! And the religion of equality is to blame. If you're going to hate on religions, hate on all religions or none. Don't have a double standard.

Homeji,"Who programmed you to be brainwashed to have such unfounded negativity towards religion? " I ask you the same question Mr. Homeji WHO PROGRAMMED YOU TO BE BRAINWASHED TO HAVE SUCH UNFOUNDED NEGATIVITY TOWARDS OTHERS WHO DON"T SHARE YOUR VEIWS ? Don't be a non religion hater too.

Man what do NGO's have to do with religion ? Its just a lame ass excuse for fanatic people like you to use them as pawns to benefit your own cause. NGO'S ARE THERE TO HELP PEOPLE, TO MAKE NEPALI PEOPLE'S LIVES BETTER. But an oppertunist like you will always try and scrutinize them and use them to benefit your own cause. Now when did the NGO's make Nepali Muslims fight against Tharus, muslims against women ? ha ha ha ha Hasaucha yo manchey ley. Must have pulled that out of ur LAME ASS.

Homeji,"We can't let out country be destroyed because a bunch of career "international social workers" need to put the right credentials on their resume." ha ha ha ha Hasaucha. And you really think UN and other NGO organizations will let these so called social workers use their organizations for advancement of these individual social workers ? EITHER YOU MUST THINK WE ARE REALLY STOOOPID OR YOU ARE ACTING A LIL TOO NAIVE AND ARE USING THEM TO FURTHER YOUR OWN CAUSE.

TALK ABOUT RIDICULOUS he he he JUST LISTEN TO URSELF, ISN'T THAT LUDICROUS ? ha ha ha

ok you were happy when Nepal was a hindu nation, but that does not mean everyone else in Nepal was happy. And yes I hate all forms of organized religion.

Well, if you think that the abuse of power and ideology by international organizations is only my opinion then, peace be to you.

http://washingtontimes.com/news/2009/may/07/nepals-maoist-double-cross/comments/

Personally, I don't like the idea of a Hindu Nepal. I like the idea of freedom, including the freedom to choose your religion and your beliefs. I don't want to see Nepal descend into a Hindu version of a religiously orthodox Taliban ruled Afghanistan.
But at the same time, I don't want to see Nepal descend into a Somalia or a Cuba in the name of people blindly following the notion of equality without using their heads.

But if people are going to abuse the notion of equality to take Nepal into chaos, I, and others like me will not hesitate for a second to promote a Hindu version of Nepal if that is the only way to stop chaos like the kind that Prachanda is doing with the help of human rights organizations eager to promote the notion of equality to the blind masses who don't understand the consequences of his actions.

What an irony reading two different articles. On one hand, Prachanda says that he will not bow down to foreign pressure. On the other hand, Prachanda assures his multi-national foreign donors that he is still very much faithful to them. In other words Prachanda is saying that he will not be influenced to foreign pressure of his multi-national foreign donors. Good thing his followers are communist fanatics. You have to be a pretty hard-core Maoist to believe that someone receiving money from special interest groups is not influenced by them.

We'll not bow down to foreign pressure: Prachanda

HomeyJi brother. First learned to distinguished Hinduism.

The word Hindu viz Hinduism itself did not exist until some 18 th century; it was coined by some British or German scholar.
The origins of Hinduism are debated by modern scholars. It is believed to be a mix of numerous traditions and faiths. Elements of Hinduism can be traced back to modern-day Pakistan at around 3000 BC. During the second millennium BC the nomadic Aryan people arrived in northwest India from Persia. They brought religious customs with them and borrowed borrowed religious customs from the native people in India and incorporated into Veda. Hence the term Vedic religion came to exist. At around 800 BC to 600 BC, the still-developing Vedic religion was affected by the rise of Buddhism and Jainism in India. Vedic religion eventually incorporated songs and poems, making it more substantial as a religion. The subsequent arrival of Islam to the region threatened this Vedic religion. Many people responded by reviving original pre-vedic practices. The result was successful as Sakti and Trantric cults were revived again which was losing it grounds through the more influence of vedic teachings. This cults are still practiced by the Kiratas and other hill people in Himalayas regions and it revolve around Saivas and Saktas.

Anyway Hinduism is a flexible format. If you take conduct, '"dharma'"(duty and righteous action), then it may vary from one region to another according to their tradition and caste. If you take belief, 'Mata' (opinion), then there are no bars to it. What is disliked is to declare that one's 'Mata' (belief) is better than others. People with different beliefs are supposed to live together peacefully respecting each other's belief though holding to their own. This is very well  illustrated in the Upanishadic injunction, 'Eko Sad, Vipra Bahudha Vadanti' (What exists is one truth, nice people describe it variously).

Without such mutual respect and accommodation people of different tribes with different traditions having different beliefs could not have lived together as they did in history in India. India is one of the countries where people of all religions, jews, christians, muslims, zoroastrians, and the local ones, buddhists, jains, and sikhs, or the aboriginals, have lived together peacefully for centuries. Kindly remember that christianity and islam reached India within one century of their establishment in the Middle-East.
