Hello,

I am currently a PhD student. I am wanting to travel to Nepal to renew my F-1 Visa. Some of my friends and colleagues have renewed their Visa without much fuss. However, I am in tricky situation as I have worked using my social during my undergraduate studies here in the US. Has anybody in my situation re-applied and renewed their F-1 Visa or have any information in this regard.

Thanks in advance.

If you used your social to work legally under CPT or OPT then you shouldn't have any issues getting a visa stamp again for your PhD.

Pardaina from my understanding. But I'm speaking only in case where visa renewal attempt was not made.
Visa was expired , letft country and came back in TPS AP , continued to go to school and applied for OPT later.

@fdpower- here is my situation

After OPT joined masters program at Harrisburg University and started working in TPS EAD. Still going to school and working with TPS EAD. Planning to go Nepal. Now should I apply for visa and renter in F1 to continue my student status or, can I re-enter in TPS AP and still continue my student status.
So whAt you are saying is TPS AP bata rentry garey pani studnet status chai maintain huncha as long as one continues going to school.
Thank You

I was on the same boat but in my case, I did not go for a new visa.
Even if you get the visa, you MUST enter in TPS AP (That's required) otherwise they will NOT renew the TPS when re-registering. This is according to the books and what I have experienced.

I came back in TPS AP and continued my school and later applied for OPT so according to my experience YES.
