Hi guys, I am in my opt and almost 8 mnths have passed and still no luck with the job. I somehow got my opt for 12 months but the company i got my opt from is not everified. So i need to find some everified consultancy in east coast . do any one of you have any idea about this. Also, is there any criteria regarding the extension of opt? Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Yes ! there is!! u should belong to the STEM ..
And most Important thing, Once u get the OPT extension from E-verified Company, u have to be in the Payroll..

Wait, arent' you supposed to get a job within 3 months to be in status? I am sure there is a way around it..that I am not aware of...any information on this would be appreciated.

To Extend OPT - First you should belong to the STEM
- Must be employed by E-Verified company or must have job offer from E-Verified compnay
- the company must have maintained all the E-Verify rules and regulations.
After Extension - you should always be employed by E-Verify company. you can not work for a company tha t is not registered in E-Verify System
i dont know how easy it is to extend OPT from Desi Consultancy. i did mine through american company and it was approved in less than a month. Hope this helps Good Luck

Cybro...here is something that might help you. 1) It is not true that you need to have a job by the first three month..as long as you are looking for a job. So you can qualify for the OPT extension if you studied Science, Engineering, Maths and are working in a field of your major. 2) If your company is not enrolled in E-Verify, find a staffing firm in the field of your job. If you don't know how, let me know your major and I can help you out. And tell your current company to hire you through the staffing firm. So, your company will pay the staffing firm and the staffing firm will pay you ( you might loose some money..but not a whole lot, because you won't get much benifit from the staffing firm). So, even though you will be working for your current company, you will technically be an employee of the staffing firm (most of which are enrolled in E-Verify). This way has worked for some people I know. If you more information, contact me.
